Lack of natural light in the room

I loved my room, especially the decor and ambience. And there was a lovely place called the island where I could walk. South Brent felt like a local community place and that was nice. Easy bus ride from Totnes. Great cafe at the hotel with nice cakes. Nice interesting communal area for breakfast or evening use.

The sound of the fridge was initially disturbing at night. I couldn't switch it off as I had things in it. I was a bit disappointed that it was a let yourself in place. I was expecting a reception and communal areas that would be busy with other people staying. Travelling solo it's often nice to engage with people. The cafe staff seemed confused that I came to them as I arrived before 5 pm even though it stated to do that in a message from the hotel. But they took me to my room and showed me the communal room so that was nice.

Richard changed us into another room, without any problems. The room was a nice size and well equipped, the bed and pillows were very very comfortable. The complimentary continental breakfast was lovely.

Wasn’t very keen on the outside metal steps/stairway leading up to the accommodation, due to my not having a head for heights The last morning unfortunately some of the complimentary breakfast items were not available due to other guests eating it all

A lot of thought has gone into the railway theme throughout the building, from the cafe downstairs to the bedrooms upstairs. My room had tea and coffee in small jars, and a fridge with a small bottle of milk and a large glass bottle of water. Much nicer than the usual refreshments in other places. There was also a small bag of fudge. I booked a room only, but was pleasantly surprised to find an offer of a continental breakfast in the morning.

Nothing, my stay was only for one night, but I will definitely be staying longer next time.

Bed was so comfy, slept really well, clean, bonus fridge too!

OK breakfast nice bathroom but no change of towtels and no wardrobe just small rail . This is supposed to be a duper ⁷

Access to room and not via fire escape wim metal wet and slippey stairs covered in vines on rail no good if your like us in our 80s

De kamer was prima, maar wat een sfeervolle gezelschaps ruimte! Leuke zitjes, een poolbiljartje, en als verrassing alles voor een goed ontbijt aanwezig. De pub was op 70m, had geen diner mogelijkheid, maar op 30m was een grillhouse/take away. Alle dagen open.

Badkamer had geen douche maar alleen badkuip.
