Coco Viet Homestay

Beautiful homestay owned by very friendly family. The help me with everything, were flexible to accommodate my needs so I didn’t have to take care of anything. Location is great, close to everything. And the bike rental is for free!

My mom and I did not have a great experience at this homestay. This was mostly due to the fact that we wanted to leave a day early and they would NOT give us a refund nor allow Expedia to refund us for that day. We tried to explain that we should only pay for the nights that we stayed there etc. It is not that central to the heart of everything so a Grab or bike will be needed. The breakfast options were quite limited and would recommend getting meals elsewhere. Honestly for the price they are charging, you can find somewhere else that offers more.

Det er et familiedrevet homestay i ei lita sidegate ganske nær gamlebyen. Rommet var større enn på de andre hotellene jeg har bodd på, og det var rent og velholdt. Familien som driver Coco Viet er veldig hyggelig og hjelpsom. Litt ujevne, men tilstrekkelige ferdigheter i engelsk. Det billigste, men absolutt det beste oppholdet på min reise i Vietnam.

Quirky cafe style entrance, vintage decor, nice BIG clean room, super helpful staff / owner. Its a km or so from the old town centre .. we enjoyed the walk, even in the rain. It is great value.

The host was lovely, very friendly and helpful. She arranged for us to do the basket boat tour which was fun, and organised us breakfast before we went. Did our washing for us at a reasonable price too. We felt well looked after.

Although the room was very nice and well appointed with good facilities, there were some things broken, such as the toilet seat and shower. The room was cleaned, but with tired, broken cups and stains in places it felt a bit dirty.

Nice place, clean rooms with good A/C. The staff don’t speak much english…

Homestay and room nicely decorated and very clean. We did not have breakfast so cannot comment on that. Very convenient for the old town area (about 5 mins walk). Laundry service available at 40,000 / kg

Some confusion on the morning of our arrival. We received messages offering a free upgrade to an unnamed but reportedly better villa. We asked for more details but were a bit dubious and in the end declined. The lady who was mostly present at the property didn't speak loads of English but was very kind and sweet. A second lady arrived shortly after we did and made a rather hard sell for her tailoring business and other day trips. We are quite independent travellers and personally do not like this approach but appreciate maybe others do. There were bikes available, if we understood correctly you got 1 bike free with the room, you would pay 50,000 (2usd) per day for a second bike. We didn't actually use them as the ones we viewed weren't in the best state of repair.

It was a lovely homestay. The family that manages the house is very welcoming. At check out I received some delicious coconut sweets for my train ride. My room in the top floor had a big terrace overlooking the rooftops of Hoi An. Perfect for watching the sunset with a beer. The only thing that wasn‘t working properly was the shower head. All in all great value for the money. you walk to the old town in like 8 min.

Maybe repair shower head. It didn‘t work properly. Also the fridge in my room had a weird smell.
