Seconds Colombo

I had a single room that was extremely clean and really comfortable. The hostel isn't super big but it still has a good amount of common areas for travellers to meet and chill. There's a restaurant that serves beer too, which is always a plus.

It's a bit far from the center, but with my trusted bus 138 that goes directly from Fort Railway Station to the hostel (Kirulapone) that's not much of a problem (about 40 Rupees). I walked to the beach once but wouldn't recommend it because no one walks in Colombo. There's lots of traffic but no sidewalks.

Room is good and clean

Most of the staff, except one person, lack basic hospitality knowledge. They seem confused whenever guests ask questions. No one smiles — not even the manager. Honestly, it’s disappointing. I booked my room two weeks in advance. On the first day of check-in, after one hour late, and they requested me to change my room to a different room. This is not a professional request. Please advise your dum manager accordingly

Quiet street made rest easy away from Colombo traffic. Breakfast was simple but hearty. Good a/c.

There didn't seem to be enough space for everyone's stuff when the dorm was full. Not a lot of kitchen appliances for the hostel. So many flies in the restaurant area. Only one toilet and one shower per floor. Small details like not enough hooks in the shower and toilet seat can't stay open when you're sitting on it. And have to ask for water as the jug was always empty. Not a big deal.

Well-run place with small pool to chill or cool down in. Nice decor. Good comfort. Nice surrounding area. Helpful staff. Nice to have a few kitchen facilities.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel! The staff in Colombo are incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. I arrived very late at night, and they had prepared a full, clear instruction set on how to get inside and settle into my bed without disturbing anyone, which was a lifesaver. Another huge plus is the ability to pay by card, which is very convenient when you're low on cash. The facilities themselves are top-notch and show great attention to detail: · In the dorm: Every bed has its own personal power outlet and a privacy curtain – perfect! · Common areas: There are cozy lounge/rest areas on each floor with sofas, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. · Food & Drinks: The on-site restaurant is excellent, and having a coffee/refreshment bar is a great touch. The small pool is a lovely bonus to cool off and unwind after a day of exploring. I genuinely loved my stay here. This hostel truly understands what a modern traveler needs for both comfort and convenience. Highly recommended!
