I would consider this accommodation a work in progress as it establishes its position in the market. It's traditional wooden housing, much more upmarket than a backpacker hostel, more flashpacker. Lots of nick nacks, love and peace signage, twee dining sets, quiant paintings and drawings, old-fashioned bicycles in the garden, etc. It gives an ambiance of relaxation, which can be enjoyed, once you get used to some if it's eccentricities. The staff were cheery patient and helpful although at breakfast, did not speak good English.

The downside that comes with such type of accommodation. Power points in the wrong place. A dehumidifier, but no kettle. A comfortable bed, but it's Japanese style mattress on the floor. Lovely windows, but insufficient curtains as you're overlooked from everywhere. Nice balcony but too hot to sit outside. Too small TV inside in the cool. . It had a safe,but it didn't work properly. At breakfast the dining table was old and lovely as a piece of furniture. But you sit on stumps which are quaint if you find a comfortable one, but it took a few goes. Breakfast options nicely laid out and appetizing but slightly more would be nice, and needs refrigeration. .

Lovely quiet location not far from River. Well situated in a nice house with lovely garden. Decent breakfast options. I had the back room with balcony.

Not a major gripe but Guy at reception didn’t offer to help me with my bag - I was clearly very hot and uncomfortable- a hand bringing my bag up the stairs to my room would have been appreciated- no or little English generally.
