Hale Mauna Loa Upper Level with shared Hot Tub

The location proximity to volcano national park is great, it’s in the middle of a rainforest, you can hear tree frogs all night.

A little unsettling knowing the owner of the property was downstairs. Also shared hot tub we did not use as was downstairs.

The outdoor deck was fantastic. It was spacious and beautiful. Inside, there was also a lot of space. The location was ideal for visiting the national park.

Parking was a little tight and it was awkward having another person in the unit below us. Inside, it smelled a bit damp and needed some updating. New, bigger towels would have been nice. Also, there was no dishwasher. Guess I missed that in the description.

The lanai and setting is exceptional. It is close to both the town of Volcano and the National Park. Easy to find. Caretaker helpful.

The pictures are in better shape then the rental. They definitely need to find a better housekeeper. Bed linens and towels were clean. Everything else needs a deep cleaning--dirty carpets, dishes, cupboards, dressers, under the beds. Some of the cooking utensils were fuzzy with mold. Can not recommend the rental unless they clean it up. Then they'll have a gem.
