Pearl Bay Villas Private Resort

Une vue incroyable (c'est ce qui m'a poussé à réserver ce séjour (4 dodos) dans cet "Hôtel" ou plutôt ce complexe avec des villas). Une arrivée en bâteau ! Des chambres spacieuses et une literie très confortable. Environnement plutôt calme (à part le ttttttt ttttt des bâteaux de pêche qui partent dès l'aube !). La possibilité de faire des sorties en mer organisées par l'hôtel (snorkeling incroyable (tortues, poissons de toutes tailles et de toutes les couleurs, épaves de la seconde guerre mondiale, pique-nique sur des plages/îles absolument sublimes). Le restaurant propose une assez large variété de plats et est plutôt bon. Le personnel a été réactif et efficace dans l'organisation des pick-up à l'aéroport (A/R), des excursions en mer et même d'une visite à Coron city. La salle bar/restaurant est agréable, bien aérée et bien décorée.

Mais, mais, mais, c'était un séjour assez étrange car nous étions seuls ma famille et moi pendant 4 jours (à part le personnel bien entendu); nous avions le complexe pour nous ! On s'est sentis un peu perdus au bout du monde au bout d'une sorte de presqu'ile seulement accessible en bateau et très, très dépendants de l'hôtel tout le temps et ça c'est très pesant. Que ce soit pour la nourriture (cela signifie que vous êtes obligés de prendre tous vos repas, du PDJ au dîner à l'hôtel), ou les sorties en mer (et dans ce cas, l'hôtel vous prépare le pique-nique). A la fin, ça rajoute pas mal à la note lors du check-out !! Vous ne pouvez pas sortir du complexe sur un coup de tête (il n'y a pas de routes, pas de chemins), tout doit être organisé au préalable. Histoire de voir autre chose, on a demandé à deux reprises à l'hôtel de réserver une table au Marina resort de l'autre côté de la baie, mais à chaque fois la réponse a été négative (pas de place). C'était sans doute vrai mais c'est juste pour souligner le fait que une fois que vous êtes à Pearl Bay vous êtes "coincés". Cela peut plaire à certains mais pour nous ce n'était pas très agréable ou en tout cas très étrange. Heureusement nous avons eu 2 très belles journées ce qui nous a permis de nous "évader" lors d'excursions en bateau (et ça vaut vraiment le coup) mais le 3ème jour, il a plu toute la journée et si l'on n'était pas aller faire un tour à Coron, on aurait trouvé le temps très très long à la villa. Sachez également qu'il n'y a aucune plage proche de l'hôtel donc c'est piscine ou sortie en bateau. Ni aucune petite boutique (pour faire des petits achats livres, produits d'hygiène, produits alimentaires, etc.). Donc pensez à tout avant d'y aller !! Au final, ce n’est pas une critique, c’est juste que cet endroit n’était pas tout à fait adapté à notre famille, à ce que l’on aime lorsqu’on voyage.

We enjoyed the ambience, food and drinks watching the sunset from the delightful bar in the restaurant. Peter, the owner gave some great recommendations for trips. We went to the nearby attractions to beat the crowds since Coron town is an hour away so we were the only tourists on tropical islands a couple of times. Pass Island, the Luzon gunboat wreck and a coral garden where we saw wonderful corals, love lovely fish and two turtles. We also snorkelled in the 'sandpit' and visited north cay & south cay. The chef cooked us delicious lunches & dinners. Lapu lapu (grouper), lobster and liempo all were especially delicious. The staff were kind courteous and efficient. The resort is off-grid so we even felt virtuous.

Hard to fault. I mentioned I'd like a larger wine list but the owner is arranging this next week.

This was One of the best Stays my family has ever had. Its location , Staff and the owner Peter were all amazing! We would highly recommend staying here. Also the food was the best food we had in a very long time. Amazing Place !

The only slight issue was the water pressure. But it didn’t have an impact on the holiday

The staff always did their best to cater to our requests, such as cooking the heaps of lobsters we bought at the market, setting up a boodle fight on our last day and organizing a tour to Coron. We will never forget the sunset view at the Villa or paddle boarding/kayaking towards the sun and I must mention that the food was amazing.

The villa is in an amazing location overlooking the sea and offering a great place to look at the sunset from its refreshing pool. Additionally in the villa we could use complimentary kayaks and snorkeling equipment to explore the surroundings. The property is immersed in the nature and it is reached with a short yet magical boat ride across the bay with a private boat. Thus, offering a very peaceful retreat but still having many services nearby like the diving center right across the bay or the beautiful resort on top of the hill. The mind blowing location is paired with an incredible service provided by its house manager that no matter what will make everything possible and seamlessly smooth (from organizing island hopping tours with packed lunch and chilled drinks, to book restaurants or plan a van to go and return from Coron town). Finally, this stay offers the best of staying in a villa with 5-star hotel services including daily cleaning and an amazing cook that can prepare tasty meals and cook for you the catch of the day from the local fisherman. All in all our stay went above every expectation and if you are lucky enough to meet the landlord, Peter, you would have the chance to learn many curious facts of the Philippines and the nearby area.

Outstanding location with spacious villas furnished to our liking, situated a lovely, tranquil bay with a wonderful view and a tip top sunset from the pool to-boot.
