Santurcia Hostel

Had a hard time finding the property with google maps, as it’s kinda hidden with just a blank green door with a door bell camera. 10min walk from the beach and great restaurants and bars, overall very good, not disappointed, at night there is lots of honking and you can hear everything. You can even hear a conversation from the ground to the second floor where the rooms are.

It had potential, nice common area and kitchen. All female dorm was nice.

The WiFi didn't work and when it did it was barely good enough to check my work email. The kitchen had ants, the only staff member I saw was clearly not local and couldn't give a crap about helping. The main 16-person dorm was right next to a super loud street.

Great value

The hostel is good and very close to the airport but the owner puts strict rules but when it comes to delivering what the hostel promises, then its a whole different story! -I had no WiFi during my stay and texted him; he texted back but never solved the issue or followed up on me. -I was cold and requested another blanket they said there was a $5 charge WTH -the bed only have a fitted sheet and they do not provide a top sheet like any normal place. - I asked if I could check out and take a quick shower before heading to the airport in the afternoon, he replied it would cost me $20. - I haven’t seen any real employee there. Only Erica that’s a volunteer- and she was really nice. - bathroom wasn’t cleaned while I stayed there and someone 💩💩💩 and never flushed so I had to get clorox and disinfect the girls bathroom myself. - after 4pm is a self check in process I will be coming back to Puerto Rico but definitely staying somewhere else that I feel more comfortable and taken care of. $55 a night is double the price I usually pay for shared rooms in a hostel. I do not recommend renting a car if you are staying in old San Juan. It’s impossible to find parking and the traffic jam is baaad

I had to leave as soon as I entered the building. Girls room very dirty. The employee tried to scammed me, she tried to charge me with $47 saying Expedia payment didn’t went thru. The Expedia $ goes to the owner and they wanted $47 for themselves.
