Ubud Paras Villa

Spectacular view from room /balcony of the jungle clad valley. Very large recently refurbished room, with spacious balcony and bathroom. Breakfast served to own room, so it was a delight to eat breakfast with a view, but under cover from the incessant rain outside!

Room had very damp, musty smell, although it was less noticeable once we left (thanks no doubt to the incense sticks we used to get rid of the smell!). There is no restaurant here, so only meal we ate at the resort was breakfast (which wasn't great). As for dinner, it appears other guests ordered food online, but there are a few eating options within 15 minutes walk. The staff appeared rather inexperienced, but I would not like to blame them at all as they were very friendly and hard working - indeed any problems we faced appear to be down to the restrictions imposed on them by the resort owner (who was never on site). For example, they have to cook each room's breakfast on just 2 gas hobs, so one has to schedule your family's breakfast at a set time, half an hour apart from the other guests breakfast schedules! (The staff were kind enough to make us a sandwiches for our early morning checkout.) Also, please note this place would not be convenient for anyone with any mobility challenge, as there are a LOT of steep steps to access the rooms (especially the rooms at a lower level) - it was ok for us, but just to warn anyone with elderly family members especially.

The price was reasonable , the view was amazing and rooms were clean and had a smart TV

The rooms need some work to look more cozy, too bland. The hotel needs to work on the lighting of the place at night and the entrance from outside is somehow dark. Also the breakfast wasn’t tasty at all. The reception area should look more welcoming and the kitchen shouldn’t be so clear in the reception area, also it would be preferred if you get your towels as towels had a smell and we request daily change but they had a smell.

The place is very quiet and private, off the main road, we thought we were the only guests. We stayed at Villa Kana (one bedroom villa) which has an amazing view on the valley. The staff helped to set up an additional bed (not the sofa bed included) for a little extra. Breakfast was simple but tasty. Located within minutes of Ubud center it was just really very good value for money, perfect to reset.

- can be difficult to find as the access is from a very small alley. - stairs!!! Not that I did not like that but very challenging if you have many luggages. Our villa was right at the bottom, good cardio exercise ! - maybe not a property for family with very young children

Great location overlooking the green forest and river. It's absolute pleasure getting up to the sounds of nature and sitting in and basking in the morning sun. Not too far from Ubud centre, and convenient enough to get a Gojek bike hire to get you to the centre. The room was more than spacious, and the team cleaned the room every day.

The walk going and getting out to the villa was a tough for me. for the young people its ok.

So much potential but the staff can't speak English. Breakfast never cooked correctly. The staff tried but I think they are not trained properly.

The setting was perfect for a relaxing and restful holiday. The view across the small river valley highlighted the natural beauty of Bali. The balcony provided the perfect breakfast experience. Peace and tranquillity!

The only suggestion was that the loose stones in the shower were painful to walk on.
