"A pleasant room ruined by street racing"

"But." I think that's the theme of this review. The room was spacious and clean, BUT we checked out early because downtown street racing went on through the night, and the sound-proofing wasn't equal to the task. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fine, BUT we had to wait for ten minutes for the single staff member to appear. I can't recommend staying here, unfortunately—either the sound-proofing has to improve, or the nightlife has to. I hope this spares someone else an expensive exercise!

My daughter and I met at the Rebel Room, the bar attached to the Industrialist Hotel in Pittsburgh. I've been there several times in the past. On this occasion, I was appalled at the cleanliness of the men's room, only to find out from hotel staff that people off the street sneak into the bathroom when the valet is otherwise occupied. Soap containers and toilet paper have been repeatedly stolen. Needles, trash, and some unmentionables have been found in the men's room. The Industrialist seems like it wants to pass itself off as a somewhat high-end establishment. Based on the room prices and the drink prices, I'd say that is an accurate assessment. I suggest a robust security presence. Servers in the restaurant/bar should feel safe, not to mention guests of the hotel.

Location was good and the staff was very nice.

The outside noise. We were on the 7th floor and could still hear the bar goers yelling, cars speeding down the road and car alarms going off until around 3am before things got quiet.
