Great location, modern but in a traditional style.

Minor issues: the wifi was not great, no TVE Chanel’s on tv, sink in bathroom just not practical, size of a medium saucepan.

Great accommodation but staff were not welcoming or friendly.

Beautiful property, well renovated with quality contemporary decor yet revealing original features e.g. stone walls. No dedicated parking but spaces are easy to find nearby. Efficient check-in. Wide staircase or elevator to first floor. Stylish bedroom with comfortable mattress (memory foam?) and good quality sheets. Coffee machine, complimentary water and fridge. Wi-fi was adequate for us. Outdoor and comfortable indoor seating areas near the front door. On-site restaurant Mesón del Cazador looked popular. Nearby Restaurante Enrique only serves meals on weekends. First floor breakfast room with self-serve continental buffet including juices, cereals, yoghurts, cakes, jams, breads, cold meats (limited), tomato, good range of tea/coffee. Worth a walk around the tranquil picturesque rural village. 15 minutes from A8. 25 min to Comillas or Santillana del Mar. 40 min to Llanes or Santander.

If two travellers require the triple room for separate beds or the terrace, then stress this at the time of booking. On Booking.com, the Triple Room with Shower is shown as having 1 single bed and 1 large double bed. We were allocated a first floor room with a double bed, without the single bed and no terrace with views that we had expected triple room pictures (1-5 and 13-19) and described by other guests. Sheila appeared unconcerned at our disappointment and pointed out that the room had space for a single bed to be added. Looking at Booking.com, I now see that we were given a double room that could be a triple room (pictures 7-12) and assume that rooms are allocated on a first come first served basis.

This is the best place I have ever stayed in my life and the village is magical. From our room you could lie in bed, open the windows onto the balcony and see the Picos mountains. Super-clean and super-spacious. The buffet breakfast is delicious and healthy

Excellent place for a romantic weekend. The town of Ucieda is very lovely and it’s surroundings too
