Ryounkaku

We had a great stay. Very comfortable room, amazing view, great onsen, delicious food.

Booked Ryokan mainly for the great spot at the top, among the mountains. Friendly staff and decent dinner. Old building and facilities but clean room and common areas.

Unfortunately the ryokan outside with the Mountain View was not open during winter. Although the cave was open. Have wished for information about that. I think the bidet in the ladies bathroom was out of service.

Remote, great backcountry skiing if you’re into that but be prepared with the right gear. Basically right across there’s a light backcountry access or if the weather cooperates you can go for the full hike. If it doesn’t, it’s still beautiful, scenic, has a nice onsen and amazing food! Easiest and cheapest way to get here is one of the 3 buses from KamiFurano station

The location is truly special, quiet, surrounded by nature, with stunning views. The room was calm and comfortable, perfect for a restful stay. The sulfur hot springs were exceptional. Highly recommended for anyone seeking peace and authenticity.
