Tekapo Luxury Apartments

We arrived at the location at 3pm and found no one at the reception. Contacted the host and he shared that booking.com did not provide him with the check-time. Despite that, the host was able to allow us to proceed with the check-in and the keys were already ready on the apartment. Superb location just a 2 minutes drive from the supermarket and restaurant, and about 5 mins drive to visit The Church of the Good Shepherd. It is our first experience with the low-light environment in Tekapo and we had the best spot for star gazing. We managed to take a glimpse of the Milky Way just right above the apartment on a clear night. The apartments is facing directly towards Lake Tekapo and you can take beautiful sunrise photos and videos. From the kitchen view, we managed to spot a wild hare just right behind the apartment bushes. You can take a short walk behind the slope of the apartment where you can spot a lake and stroll around the space. The apartment is clean and modern, and washer and dryer are well placed at the corner area near the kitchen. The bedroom pillows were comfortable to our liking as they are soft and filled. You may enjoy a discount using the code provided by the apartment for star gazing with Silver River™ Stargazing too. We also visited the Petting Zoo which is just a 3 mins walk from the apartment. Highly recommended to do advance booking as it is popular and takes not more than 20 pax per session.

Just feeling a little too quiet especially at night probably for a city girl who might not be too used to the silent night. Otherwise, the apartment is great!

Location and cleanliness

Kettle very old and dirty inside, Internet very slow, Microwave not functioning, dryer touch screen need to press and hold to operate, felt overpriced

Two bathrooms suit the need of two couples. Location with view of the lake and the golf course at back. We took beautiful photos. Facilities are reasonably maintained.

The cooking utensils are limited and the cooking pan is old, its bottom is not flat to fit the electric cooktop! Seasoning material is limited, only a few packs of salt and pepper of fast food size is provided. The staff is not helpful as we want to check-in at 1 but they insist the standard 3pm and when we arrived at 4pm they all gone even the listed latest time is 6pm!

Great location

The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, equipped with 2 bedrooms and 2 washrooms. Kitchen is well equipped as well. The driveway faces the lake, which gives a very pretty sunset when the weather is nice. It is also well located with a few mins drive or about 15-20 mins walk from town centre.

Noises like footsteps from upstairs were also unfortunately very apparent throughout the day. TV was equipped with subscription services like netflix, but we had trouble with the remote control, and movies didn't seem to load properly. There was no cleaning service for a 2 nights stay, which is understandable.
