Staff were a little rude at times and got the feeling they didnt really like tourists

Great staff. Great location. Bycicle parking. Free sake and soft drinks. Gorgeous interior. Spacious room (by Japan standards). Wood bath.

Window only opens a little bit and no view.

Staff, location, size of room, wooden bath, powerful shower. Quiet fellow residents. As well as the usual shower gel, shampoo etc, every day we got face cleanser and cream, moisturiser etc sachets 👍🏻. Free coffee machines but didn’t have any as I like a good coffee. Fridge and freezer.

We added another night to Kyoto and the exact room more than doubled in price?! I find all quilts too hot in Japan so I have been removing the inner quilt and every day the room attendant put it back in again. We stayed 6 nights so take the hint 😉. Small thing though. Get a proper cafe? No cooking utensils/pans even though there is a hob.

The hotel was in a great location with lots of walkable areas nearby, and the room size was spacious and comfortable compared to many hotels in Japan.

However, the cleanliness and service did not fully match the price point. When we checked in, there was a strand of hair on the toilet, which made the room feel less sanitary from the start. Housekeeping during the stay also felt a bit inconsistent compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan. While the stay was still enjoyable overall, we expected a bit more attention to detail and service for the price we paid.
