Mamma Ciccia Holiday Home - Lake Front Apartment

First of all, Mandello is a fantastic location. This charming village offers plenty to do and is perfect for scenic walks along the lake or through the park. It's less touristy than the more well-known towns, which gives it an authentic, local feel. The service from Mamma Ciccia was excellent—very professional and responsive. The ladies spoke great English and were extremely helpful throughout our stay. We absolutely loved the apartment. While it’s not brand new, it has everything you need, is spacious, well-maintained, and gives you that warm feeling—like visiting an Italian relative. The bed linens and towels were fresh, white, and felt brand new. The view from the apartment is simply stunning. It can be a bit lively at times - but this is Italy! People enjoy life here, and that adds to the charm. I imagine it’s one of the calmer places even in peak season. There are several cafes nearby and a big supermarket in 5 min drive. Parking in May was easy - we found free spots nearby without any trouble. We’d definitely stay here again. In fact, two of our friends have already asked for the details after seeing our photos! Can't say anything particular. All good. The apartment is not sparkling new, but definitely very well maintained and well equiped.

Some cupboard doors didn't close, shower didn't drain properly. No toaster.

The view was spectacular and it was lovely to wake up in the morning to see all the wildlife and fishermen. It is in a rare place in Mandello del Lario where you can actually get down to the water and see up and down the lake. It is right at the centre of the old town and the subject of many photos.

Though the area was great we were disappointed with the accommodation. The furniture was old, and not in an antique way, so offered little support and was quite uncomfortable. The curtains were very thin and the shutters only covered half the glass doors, so in the main bedroom so it was difficult to sleep with the light coming in. Given the number of people passing outside this also offered little privacy. When it rained a considerable amount of water came in under the doors. Some chairs were stained or ripped. Under the beds it was very dusty. Some of the sockets didn't work so we had to find places to charge our electrical goods that weren't the most convenient. Though the property advertised a terrace the apartment did not have one. There was only one balcony large enough to stand on. There were no instructions on how to work anything and also no information on the local area. We were not given any additional information from staff either, just which key worked which door. They didn't tell us until the end of our stay that the tourist tax was not included in the bill, which came as a surprise when we were getting low on cash. All in all we felt the apartment was very much a commercial venture and not at all comfortable or homely, especially for a longer stay.

The location was perfect, with a spectacular view of the lake. The apartment was very comfortable. A large and fully equipped kitchen for those who want to cook. Kind staff, free parking about 5 minutes' walk from the apartment.

Very bad water flow in shower.

Guliana greeted us and had our suitcases delivered to our room and when we returned in an hour she escorted us to our gorgeous apartment. The view was breathtaking in many rooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. When we needed extra towels we were able to get them.. The 2 restaurants associated with Mamma Cicci were great .. The ferry was literally 500 ft away..and we bought tickets there to go to the different towns! What a beautiful area … A must see.
