"Beautiful place."

10.0

Beautiful bathroom in Gus Premium. People were very friendly and nice. Hotel has a great smell the moment you step in, all the way to the room! Free wine was great, amazing medical massage as well. And awesome restaurants all around.

Other people messing with my laundry ... A little strange eggs were not on the breakfast menu/free... Drop off point was a little iffy... Also, no room slippers provided - do bring one if you prefer not to touch the cold flooring!

Great range of breakfast items - complimentary! Restaurant was in great location and well appointed. Love the water stations situated outside the lift.

"A wonderful stay in complete comfort"

10.0

We booked the Gus Holding room at a great price through Booking.com but to our great delight were upgraded to Gus Premium upon arrival (wow!!!). It was simply wonderful. The room was very modestly furnished but incredibly comfortable. The bed was amazing in itself but its location right next to the wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-floor window was spectacular. The room had a spacious bathroom, with beautiful bath and 'double-headed' shower, and a separate mirror and sink area as well as a generous 'kitchen' bench. No kitchen as such, but a coffee maker, kettle, and small bar fridge with a few complimentary treats. The buffet breakfast in the morning was lovely (so was the gesture of a welcome drink of choice when we arrived).

There was nothing we didn't like that would be relevant to most travelers. However, when I stay in multiple storey buildings, I prefer to use the staircase on occasion. During our stay, we decided to take the staircase, rather than the elevator. When we arrived at the ground floor, we realised that the door to the foyer was locked and our room pass didn't work. We knocked on the exit door and one of the reception staff 'rescued' us. Upon inquiring, we were told that we weren't 'meant to' use the staircase and that the one-way entry was designed so that in an emergency guests wouldn't 'flee' back into a burning building. That was all fair enough. What I didn't appreciate is that there was no signage whatsoever to communicate that the staircase was a one-way entry-only setup and that it was to be used in emergency only. The suggestion that we had done something we weren't 'meant to' without having been given relevant information was disappointing. I also wondered how the hotel responds to guests that are uncomfortable in elevators. I travel a lot and never have been discouraged or obstructed to use the staircase.
