Phelwana Game Lodge

Absolutely everything. This was the best place that we have stayed in Africa Bar none. loved the staff, loved the view, loved the food, loved the general experience. We would absolutely come again.

Beautiful lodge with choice of different rooms on a small private game reserve. We opted for a luxury safari tent with private plunge pool. It was amazing! Beautifully furnished with private bathroom, comfortable king sized bed, well stocked mini bar and complimentary tea, coffee and water. The room rate included breakfast and dinner which were also amazing. Great choice of food that was delicious and well presented. An evening game drive and morning bush walk were also included and these were expertly led by knowledgeable guides. We saw so much wildlife with the highlight being a leopard cooling off next to a small pond. Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this lodge and hope we will return again soon!

The only thing I wasn’t so keen on was the air conditioning in the safari tents. It didn’t really seem necessary, isn’t very environmentally friendly and was very loud! Would be better to install ceiling fans.

We were made to feel special, attention to detail was perfect, nothing was too much trouble. Meals were superb.

Absolutely in love with Phelwana! Definitely recommend and I hope to come back soon. The quality of the meals and rooms, the beauty of the animals walking around freely and the unbelievable attention to details of the staff made our first safari in family the most perfect experience. I thank each one of the staff members for making this holiday a dream for us.

That I didn't have more days of vacation to stay there!!! hehe

Great Staff, Great Service and excellent food

Chose this place for the seclusion it offers. The tent was basically on the lake and far (but a walkable distance) from reception. So we were in our own little world but could opt for human interaction if we wanted to. Tent was clean, had an aircon, an outdoor shower, a little splash pool, an amazing view and we had visitors from all sorts of animals. It was just so delightful.

Oh, the food. 😭 The presentations looked good, but yoh. It’s really not 4 star.
