The Seabird

Nice, small (6 rooms only) motel, fairly new (in 2025). It's across the road from the river, so the views are pleasant. Has a well appointed communal kitchen for making meals and eating.

Our aircon unit wasn't working properly and always stayed on high speed (noisy) so we couldn't run it during the night and it was hot and humid. The motel is about 5km out of town, so a short drive is needed to get food, drinks, etc. Glasses hadn't been washed properly. The Nescafe pod coffee maker in the room is useless.

The bed was comfortable. The decor was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped

The place was dirty with dead insects everywhere including the kitchen drawer. The balcony was covered in cobwebs which did not entice one to sit outside The kitchen fridge was full of mouldy fruit and curdled milk containers; one carton had a use by date three weeks prior. The dishcloth needs throwing out and the bench tops need cleaning The bedroom fridge froze my fresh milk and orange juice. The towels were old which would be a minor thing except for the very expensive nightly rate which leads to certain expectations

Large clean rooms and staff are very helpful. Beach at Broulee is about 10 minutes away and worth a visit…nice snorkelling too.
