Apartamentos Duque Cartagena

The location is amazing, just a close walk to the Plaza San Francisco. The apartment had comfortable beds, and the living room area was adequate. I also liked that the window in the back faced a quiet hillside. Check in was perfect, with good communication about location and getting the keys. It was reasonably clean. The appliances in the kitchen all worked. Hair dryers were there, shower was large enough. Towels were provided. The washing machine worked well. The TV worked well. Internet was good and fast. It was reasonably quiet most of the time. The building was secure, and I never felt unsafe in the neighborhood.

The apartment had enough household supplies for a brief stay, but since we stayed for many weeks, we had to purchase some basic things the apartment did not have, or did not have enough of: Bowls, rags, sponges, dishtowels, dish drying rack, hangers, etc. After the 2 or 3 day supply we were told they would not provide: additional hand soap, toilet paper, dish soap, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, etc. despite us paying a daily rental fee without a monthly discount- or any discount for that matter. I thought that a booking priced daily without a monthly discount would provide the same services and amenities that are provided to those only staying a few days. These additional costs may not make this rental as good of a value as other properties that are more adequately equipped and provide those items throughout a stay (if priced at a daily rate). The apartment is arranged in the typical Spanish style with a courtyard like tunnel through the center of the building, which gives you more windows, but less quiet. The roller shades of the neighbors are loud at all hours of the day and night, and its an echo chamber for neighbors and loud birds. I am not a fan of this type of setup, but it's very typical in Spain. Also, the noise from neighbors through the walls is common, as to be expected in an apartment. The apartment is arranged in one long hallway with all of the rooms to the left. The apartment was reasonably clean, but the broom that was provided was filthy. The drains are slow and occasionally have random loud gurgling and draining sounds. The shower fan did not work. The water was scary hot- parents with small children use caution. The mattresses were ok, but one was extremely hard and one was very soft. Overall, for the price the apartment was worth it, but do not expect resupplying of the amenities listed for your daily fee,...or any "extras"... Its a decent place for a fair price, in a great location, but nothing more.

Very large and roomy apartment. Kitchen was well equipped. Excellent to be given 2 sets of keys. Location was great. Hostess was very responsive.

Shower head did not fit on existing wall bracket. This made it awkward to use. Hard pillows. Drying rack was broken. Large frying pan was compromised. We had trouble with the wifi.

Apartamento de buen tamaño, con ubicación perfecta en la plaza de San Francisco, en el casco historico de Cartagena. Muy confortable, silencioso, aún estando en la plaza, al ser interior. Decoración funcional y con detalles de muy buen gusto. Todo muy limpio y cuidado. Aparcamiento gratuito cercano, en la Universidad, a cinco minutos a pie.

Lo único que podría mejorarse, para mí, sería el colchón de la cama de matrimonio, que me resultó algo blando, aunque esto puede ser cuestión de gustos.
