Pousada Villa Canaã

The place is simply amazing, the hotel staff especially the guy Thiago who explained to us about the place, about the possibilities of going out into the city, about restaurants, a really amazing guy. The breakfast is excellent, we got everything we asked for. Recommended place, too bad it was short. Thanks to the owners.

We loved everything.

The breakfast was top of the notch! The room was fully equipped, very comfortable bed, amazing shower and nice view from the balcony. The pool was very close to our room, nice water temperature and comfy chairs. I want to take a minute to thank Thiago especially for all his attention to every detail and support in everything we needed. He was very welcoming and always greeted us with a smile, giving us the best tips for visiting the town.

It was actually all good, except for a misunderstanding that happened one night with the owners. When we checked in, Thiago mentioned that there was no problem with ordering delivery, we only had to let them know so that they would be aware. We did that, and when the delivery guy arrived, Marcos and Simone didn’t seem very happy with this and she even called our room asking for details about this and not recognizing one of the guests (my partner) who she met and talked to the first morning. The thing I regret is that after all of this and even me talking to Jonathan the next morning about the situation, Simone and Marcos never talked to us again or even tried to clarify what had happened. So this is the only bitter sweet moment we had.

The whole property is quite new (built in 2019) and in impeccable conditions. The service level from the owners (Marcus and Simone) and their staff is the best I’ve seen (by far) after traveling over 40 countries. Excellent breakfast that includes several made to order hot dishes and always a delicious and creative different desert every day.

I wish I’d have stayed longer. What a gem.

The whole experience at Pousada Villa Canaa was exceptional. The owners greeted us when we arrived and made us feel at home. The hotel has many details (antique furniture, beautiful decor, and many features) that make it stand out. The feel once inside the compound is like a scenic and tranquil oasis. The breakfast, cooked by the owners, is like homemade. Also, the beaches and scenic cobblestone town streets are only about a 10 or 15-minute walk away.

The entrance is steep, which is not the fault of the owners. They constructed stairs next to the steep driveway, making it easier to walk up the entrance.

The property is paradise. The location is beautiful with a gorgeous view. The breakfast was fantastic and best of all the staff were amazing. I’ve never met hotel staff who are so happy to help out and make the holiday a good experience. This is the best place we have ever stayed. We will definitely be back! I loved all of the little extras that made our stay feel special: welcome coconut water and dessert, friendly conversation at breakfast from all staff, a water and snack for our journey back to Rio. The pool is lovely and refreshing, and the grounds were beautiful with all of the flowers, plants, birds and butterflies.

- Our car kept bumping in the access ramp to the pousada, although we tried to follow instructions on how to avoid this - The mattress was a bit too much on the soft side, bending on the sides - The coffee served at breakfast isn't so good, although you can get a nespresso for a modest extra charge (BRL 7)

Beautiful property, warm staff, delicious breakfast

Our stay at Pousada Villa Canaã lived up to all of the other amazing reviews. The property is beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly, the breakfast is delicious, and the location is great. Marcus & Simone were both so friendly and helpful - can't recommend staying with them enough!
