Purtroppo la scarsa qualità dell’appartamento ha compromesso in modo significativo la vacanza. Nonostante le mie ripetute richieste di supporto, sono stato rimbalzato da un referente all’altro senza che nessuno si assumesse responsabilità. Solo l’ultimo giorno è intervenuto un incaricato, che ha confermato l’impossibilità di risolvere i problemi e che il soggiorno era ormai compromesso. Principali disservizi: 1. Serrande elettriche non funzionanti: camera da letto bloccata con accesso al cortile impedito; serrande salotto fissate con fascette senza oscuramento; apertura forzata di 50 cm che lasciava filtrare luce impedendo il riposo. 2. Odore di fogna persistente dal bagno, costringendomi ad aprire finestre anche di sera e a riscaldare con fornelli, con rischio per la sicurezza. 3. Acqua calda insufficiente, esaurita dopo due docce, con impossibilità di usare la vasca pubblicizzata. 4. Frigorifero rumoroso, con forte fischio udibile ovunque; ho dovuto spegnerlo, rinunciando all’uso della cucina. 5. Sicurezza compromessa: portafinestra senza serratura, con concreto rischio di intrusione; ho dormito con orologio al polso e valori sempre con me. 6. Piscina inaccessibile per 2 giorni per cancello difettoso, forzabile solo con un calcio (come mostrato da incaricato l’ultimo giorno). 7. Altri disservizi: porta bagno non chiudibile, bidet inutilizzabile, luce camera guasta, barbecue arrugginito, portasapone rotti, mancanza chiavi e telecomando veranda, aspirapolvere incompleto

The apartment had a beautiful view of the lake and Menaggio. Instructions getting into the property were very good. Kitchen was well appointed and beds were comfortable. Nice gift basket for our stay.

The blinds on the left side of the living area weren’t operating and obstructed the view from inside. It was raining when we arrived and the awning over the outdoor table also wasn’t working so couldn’t go outside that evening. Security gate opener was not working. Had to get out and open gate with a key each time which would’ve ok except for the rain. No coffee tables around the couches seemed odd. No carafe for the coffee maker.

The view is simply stunning and far and away the best aspect of the property. The apartment was spacious and clean and reasonably well equipped. Having access to the swimming pool was great and it was a really good size. I swam every day and had it to myself which was great. Joining instructions were comprehensive

The single biggest issue with this property is that it is a 1km walk into Menaggio which is fine and was clear as advertised. What is absolutely not clear is that it is simply not possible to walk into town without taking your life into your hands. There are no pavements or cuts threw off the main road into town for large parts of the route. This is a massive issue. There is a bus but it only runs until 7pm. Taxis are few and far between and expensive. Fortunately we had a car but all that meant in terms of accessing Menaggio was a daily fight to find a free parking space which are also few between. This issue is clearly not set out in the property description and absolutely should be made clear. Be warned!! Whilst the property is pleasant there were also a number of other issues in the apartment. There appeared to be a virtually constant and noisy gurgling noise of water somewhere in the apartment block which got worse as the stay went on. Likewise the fridge made a constant humming noise throughout the stay and clearly needs looking at. Other than that there are a number of other disappointing issues which frankly I don’t expect from an apartment as expensive as this: - the swimming pool on day 1 was great and clean - by day 5 it was absolutely filthy and clearly nothing had been done to clean or maintain it during the week. This is just not acceptable - the garden area of the apartment is potentially lovely but was overgrown, scruffy and just not well maintained - quality of the kitchen contents were poor - such as chipped bowls, no half decent wine glasses was poor for a apartment of this cost
