Cattani's Riverside Home

To stay here is a privilege. The secret is in its name - the Cattani family’s HOME on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. It is not a “hotel”; it does not have “staff”; of course it is “clean”. It’s a real home where the charming, interesting, caring family live, and you are invited to share it with them. Set in a landscaped Japanese garden designed by Brian, the Riverside villa is a perfect creation of a Japanese home, full of original art and artefacts, beautifully appointed, and entirely private. Nanna manages everything and creates delicious dishes- there’s no “menu”- you are just enjoying the food which she loves to make for you. A couple of shy dogs have wheedled their way into the family, which includes Jonah, one of Nanna and Brian’s sons, who so charmingly and discreetly keeps his eye on everything. This is my second visit to Cattani’s Riverside Home. It’s a unique property, but it’s absolutely stunning and amazing. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Cattani and her staff are amazing. The property is stunning, and each time I have used a tuk tuk to travel around the sights of Ayutthaya, before returning to the tranquil surroundings of Cattani’s riverside home. I tried the Japanese house with riverside balcony this time and I loved it. I’ll be back, I love this place and you will too.

This is an extraordinarily well designed and built place. The gardens are incredibly beautiful . The cabin we stayed is was of the highest quality, beautifully decorated. Nana was the best hostess ever. A delightful person. Not a problem getting a grab to and from town. Highly recommended

Owner and her family and staff were awesome. So nice and took great care of us and made great food! Cowboy room was really fun and unlike any where else I’ve ever stayed in Thailand. Great atmosphere, river view in the morning. Easy parking next door at the temple.

This is an amazing hotel that feels like home. The owner Nana is kind and inviting. The place has 4 decorated cabins with a collection of items from around the world. It has a beautiful garden right by the river. Highly recommended to stay several days and relax.

This stay was incredible. Nana and Brian welcomed us in every possible way. We stayed in a beautiful casita and could not have been more delighted.

Staying at Cattani's Riverside Home was an unforgettable experience. The rooms are warm and welcoming, offering the comfort and coziness of being at home. What truly sets this place apart, though, is Nana’s incredible hospitality. She is a remarkable woman, full of insight and vision, embodying the generous and kind spirit of the Thai people. From shopping at the local market to preparing dinner herself, every meal was a delight—especially her handmade desserts, which were a real treat. The location is ideal for those seeking tranquility. It’s just the right distance from the bustling center, with a nearby park perfect for exploring by bike. The archaeological park, a must-see, is only 20 minutes away. Cattani River offers not just a stay, but an experience. Highly recommended!

Although not too far away from the archeological site, it’s best to arrange your transport to and from the property in advance, as taxis can be hard to find in the area.

Exceptional villa with themed art and craftmanship. Superb food. The hosts helped us with a river tour and a guided tour of Ayutthaya.
