Grand Hotel Victoria Concept & Spa, by R Collection Hotels

I liked everything about this hotel. The location was excellent, easy walking distance to the ferry, the bus station and The rooms were immaculate, we were in the new building at the rear of the resort so had a partial view of the lake . The breakfast buffet that was included was exceptional. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the Lake Como region.

The only suggestion that I feel could be improved was the knowledge of the conceirge staff. Typically I would expect them to know what time the ferry terminal opens, the menus of local restaurants, what nights the restaurants were open, different travel options to Como etc. The every staff member that I had the pleasure of interacting with extremely accomodating and pleasant to a fault.

I stayed at the hotel during the stormy weather in September, so the choice of hotel really mattered as naturally that was the most secure place to stay at. I must say I was very impressed by the hard working concierge service, especially Luka, who was guiding us from the moment we arrived at Lake Como to discover that there was no way to get to the hotel by land due to a landslide. I had established connection with the hotel concierge before arrival via WhatsApp and it was very convenient and reassuring once I needed to find out more info on arrival to Lake Como. Also, as the hotel is located in Menaggio, Luka went out of his way to tell us about the best sites we could visit in one day once the weather cleared. The room and the hotel were impeccable - the room was cosy and clean and the hotel had that grand feel to it yet modern and not intrusive. We enjoyed the bar with its bespoke cocktails and amazing service. Also, the spa was a great getaway place when it was raining outside and I spent 4 hours inside. It truly has everything to relax and take it slow. I especially enjoyed the various showers with essential oils. The artificial fire room imitating the forest campfire was a great retreat where we were sipping hot tea to cool down after the sauna. I stayed at another famous hotel in the area, but it can't be compared to Grand Hotel Victoria on many levels. The breakfast service here was also superb with great variety of food. The food was really tasty and most importantly the buffet had everything you could imagine with quick personalised service!

One of the best customer experiences we have ever had. Staff was amazing taking care of every need and helping with anything. Absolutely amazing top to bottom.

Stayed here with my mom for a few days and we absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond, the room was spacious and had two bathrooms, and the view and grounds were spectacular! The breakfast buffet was abundant and included with the room. Fresh fruits, juices, hot buffet, large variety of meats, cheeses and pastries, and plenty of gluten free options if needed. We didn’t get a spa treatment, but we checked it out and it looked incredible - various pools and saunas and steam rooms. I want to go back!

I cannot say enough good things about the Grand Hotel Victoria. From the immaculately kept grounds; beautiful lush hydrangeas, wonderful pool, exceptional restaurants, to the staff. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and made me and my fiancé feel right at home. We had several hiccups with travel along to and from Como and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we got to our destinations safely and smoothly. To travelers: do check out the local gelato spot that is a 5 minute walk from the hotel (pro-tip: get the pistachio) and the restaurant “Dal Tato” for some amazing Italian food.

Worst 5 star hotel we have stayed in. They are a fairly new 5 star hotel (4 star before their extension) and this showed in their customer service. They want to help but they do not take no as an answer, very pushy and uncomfortable. The room smelt of sewage and the drain was gurgling (we were in the new extended part of the hotel). One towel was dirty. The room service breakfast choice extremely poor. The good things were the indoor spa, comfy bed and the breakfast in the restaurant.

Currently still on our stay for the week and the hotel has been nothing short of amazing. The staff is so friendly and lovely. The concierge are next level, so helpful and kind. They really go above and beyond! The facility is so clean, the spa is wonderful and the food and beverage offerings are fantastic. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!
