Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Moundsville by IHG

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff, who made check-in quick and seamless. Their professionalism and friendliness set the tone for a wonderful stay. The room was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was incredibly comfortable, with crisp linens and fluffy pillows that made for a perfect night's sleep. I also appreciated the little touches – plenty of outlets, great water pressure in the shower, and complimentary coffee and toiletries. The hotel's amenities were top-notch. The hotel offered a great variety of breakfast options that were both delicious and freshly prepared. The fitness center and swimming pool was clean and well-equipped, and the free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout the property. The hospitality of the staff was excellent. Every team member I encountered – from housekeeping to management – went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. It genuinely felt like a home away from home. I highly recommend Holiday Inn to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

I checked in around 9:43 PM. The lady at the front desk had issues with the keys for two rooms on the fifth floor. When I went there with my two daughters, I discovered that both rooms had already been given to someone else. The staff member assigned us different rooms that had also been sold. She mentioned that almost all rooms were booked, and when I approached her again, she offered us another set of rooms but charged me for an extra room. When I requested a refund, she told me to wait until noon the next day, when her boss would be able to process it. After some back-and-forth, she insisted that I had to stay until 11 PM and even asked another employee about the refund. Additionally, she was yelling at her 17-year-old son on the phone, who was asking her for money. It was a scary night. I couldn't sleep peacefully because I kept worrying that someone might enter my room in the middle of the night, especially since they had made an excuse about a glitch in their system that prevented them from differentiating between sold and unsold rooms.

Rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was great. Breakfast was good. The only down side I have to the stay was that the room I booked with the pull out sofa bed wasn’t available, so I had to get an extra room when we got there to fit everyone.

Dave the houseman was so nice and such a big help. We had a suitcase that broke and he brought us duct tape so we could at least get the suitcase to the car without clothes falling out.

We had a very frustrating experience at this Holiday Inn. After an 8-hour drive, we were eager to check in and rest — but things went downhill quickly. The room we were assigned on the 5th floor couldn’t be accessed with the key cards provided. I had to make three separate trips between the 5th floor and the front desk, and each time, the receptionist reprogrammed the keys, asking me to try again. It never worked. Eventually, a staff member (I believe his name was C.J.) came up to check and confirmed the lock wasn’t functioning. He then spent a while trying to locate a tool to reset the lock instead of promptly offering a solution. After repeated requests, he finally assigned us a different room — 45 minutes later. We were also traveling as a group of six families and had requested rooms on the same floor so the kids could spend time together. We arrived around 4:30 PM and asked again at check-in. The front desk informed us that the hotel was fully booked and that nothing could be done — even though most guests hadn’t yet checked in. Despite being early, they refused to accommodate our request or prioritize our group. Lastly, breakfast was underwhelming. On both mornings, they ran out of basic items and no staff seemed available to restock or assist. Overall, it was a disappointing and poorly managed stay — definitely not the experience we expected from a Holiday Inn.

The front desk was left unattended quite often. This hotel definitely needs room service.

Very clean n well maintained. Spacious rooms, great staff.
