Palazzo Valmarana Braga

Everything was absolutely perfect!

Excellent location in the heart of Vicenza. Well established historic building with easy immediate access to sites, restaurants and shopping. The host was friendly and accommodating and available via phone. Our apartment had lots of space to stretch out and relax, but the apartment is spartan in décor, some updates, rugs, an extra piece of furniture, side table etc in living room, main bedroom etc. would go a long way...

We arrived and there was no hot water, we had to inform the host who quickly arrived and turned it on. The apartment decor is somewhat spartan, but adequate. Beds were decent and respectable. Kitchen and bathrooms, clean and supplied. No parking in front, You need to park four blocks away in a pay parking lot and walk your luggage to the building. Hey... its historic Italy, expect that. :) The walk was short... 5-8 min. FYI, We initially looked for a check in office as we arrived late in the evening. there isn't one, and guests are to contact the host via phone, which she will talk you through the door code and access to the keybox which isn't a big deal and its well orientated...

Location was excellent. The historic nature of the property is a bonus. Excellent restaurants nearby. View from the loft over Vicenza was superb! Excellent sunsets.

As we were staying in a loft apartment, it was a bit of a trek with luggage to arrive at the room.

Vicenza was a delightful city to visit, made all the more pleasurable by our 3 night stay at this lovely Palazzo in the heart of the city. Our apartment Palladio was absolutely stunning. It is located on the 1st floor, with stair and elevator access, and has windows opening onto a street lively during the day and quiet at night. Everything about this experience was exceptional, from the original wood beamed ceilings to the comfort of the beds. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was outfitted with plush towels, soaps and hair dryer. Our host, Francesca, was graciously flexible when we were later than our planned check-in time and she was very responsive with one minor issue we had. As a bonus, Palladian Routes bike tours operates out of the same building, making renting e-bikes to visit the Palladian villas very easy. Staying at the Palazzo Valmarana Braga was the highlight of our trip and we hope to return soon.

Though it was not an issue for us, wi-fi is only available in the main living area.

We loved the grounds and the building it was a privilege to stay in a 16th century palazzo. We loved Fracesca, the owner and her assistants they were wonderful. The apartment size was very large and the furnishings were beautiful.

I can only write about unit 8, apartment Maria D'Austria. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom setup did not allow privacy for my sister and my wife and me. The main bedroom is in the upstairs loft area and you must walk through it to get to the second bedroom. The upstairs bathroom could use a shower curtain or glass door. The second bathroom is on the main floor, so my sister was more comfortable sleeping on the sofa and using it as her bathroom. It would be very nice for one couple or a family with very young children. But we did love everything else about it.
