BUENACASA Apartment

Location is perfect Charming old-style building (no bad smell as other people mentioned in their reviews) Spacious, clean, good communication with the host Possibility to check out by leaving keys in a locked box

No water pressure in the shower and clogged-up drains No one comes to bring more toiletries, towels, empty trash cans etc. for the length of stay A BIG DISLIKE for the fact that I lost my plane to Italy, I had to buy tickets for a later flight to another city, then jump on busses and trains to get to Bari and after the whole horrible experience and money lost on travelling, the host asked me for 25 Euros for being 15 minutes late at check-in. There was no humanity or compassion and that left a bitter taste of how humans treat humans and people take advantage of you when you're down. I know it says on Booking that they charge you for late check-in but he never said that when I kept in contact all day and THEY HAVE A BOX WHERE THEY CAN LEAVE THE KEY FOR YOU. So Claudio didn't have to meet me (he could have told me that if he meets me, he will charge me money), and he could have just texted me whatever I needed to know about the place and leave the key for me in the same box where I left it for him on check-out. What's the point to have a key box just for checkout and not using it for check-in? (Apart from taking money from people). I was very disappointed by this fact and I would have understood if there was no key box but with it there, apart from taking advantage of the customer's misfortune, I see no other explanation.

The apartment is perfectly located in the old town and also very close to the new part of Bari and there are lots of places for eat and drink in a short distance, few minutes walking, which is very convenient. The host was able to meet us earlier so we could check in earlier than the hours provided which was great. Our check-out was also earlier but there was no problem leaving the keys. The host also sent us some touristic useful information for the town, some places to eat, advices for our stay in the country. Considering the price, I believe it's a good choice.

In the apartment there were problems with the water running out of the sink and of the shower, but I believe it happened occasionally and is not something constantly. Also the wifi was a bit poor especially in the bedroom, while in the kitchen the signal was better. Keep in mind that there are no views and not much fresh air in the apartment because it's on the ground level.

Disappointing Cons- musty mildewy smell throughout the apt. There’s a dehumidifier in the apt and it helps some, but we had to empty it at least once a day. We stayed for 9 days and only received 2 bath towels. The couch has stains on it- (I suggest a new couch or at least a couch cover). The shower tile looks as if it’s not been cleaned. In desperate need of bleaching. Pros- it’s in a great location and walking distance to everything.

Cons: photos better than actual place. Over priced for what was on offer. Internet intermittent. No dishwasher (or even a tea towel) and no rainfall shower as advertised.Kitchen:cooktop and oven didn't work. Representative said it would be fixed Monday but it wasn't. Kettle didn't work. Shabby. Bathroom: water filled shower base and vanity basin as drainage bad. Loungeroom: shabby and strained couches. Wardrobe smelled bad. Bedroom: awful mattress. Pros: good location in old town Bari. Rep. gave some good tips on bakery and restaurants.

The apartment was in a narrow road in the old part of Bari where we were surrounded by locals, most selling their home made pasta. A Great opportunity to be part of this community. The apartment was clean and had all required facilities including hot water. Very friendly host who greeted us and even gave us recommendations on where to eat and nice places to visit.

There was a weird smell in the bedroom, probably related to the moisture because it is an enclosed room within old walls. There were scented oils present to help with it.

Great location right in the old town, cosy apartment with most essentials to cook. Really helpful staff, they gave us some good restaurant recommendations and helped us recover some things we had forgotten upon leaving. Highly recommended!
