I just went to the Dortmund-Hoffenheim game. I only booked the flights a month ago but thought accommodation would not be a problem. Boy, was I mistaken! The vast majority of hotels around the Dortmund area were booked up with the game and the Christmas market. This was one of the few hotels available. I looked in Trip Advisor and there are only 2 reviews. I was thinking : Does anybody visit this place! It is about 15 mins by streetcar from central station in a nice, quiet area of town. The hotel itself looks good from the outside but is poorly designed. You go in the door and you almost fall into the stairs if you are not careful. The bathroom in my room was as big as the room itself - wierd experience. I had a nice stay. The bed was comfortable and I got 2 good nights sleep. The restaurant area is tastefully decorated and the breakfast buffet was very good. The hotels problems lie with the owners and their "laissez faire" attitude to tourists in general. They do not come from Germany and when I asked the owner about a few places in Dortmund, he looked at me as if I had 2 heads. He was not helpful. When I arrived into my room I was greeted by a bag of rubbish and a few used handtowels on the floor. I asked for them to be removed and the lady in charge did so but without apologising. I also had a beer when I arrived to read the local newspaper and asked can I sit anywhere. She said yes but was moved a half hour later when a "regular group" came in as I was sitting on their table. Altogether would I stay in again. No if there was another hotel around. Would I recommend it. Yes and no. If there is better around then go for that!

i visited this hotel with my client for four days and have no words to describe my stay here. It was really home away from home. Accommodation, location, services of the staff..... All were superb. I was mesmerized by the quality, taste, and variety of food offered at this hotel. I have not expected this much from this place. Property is well maintained and intelligently designed according to needs of all types of travelers. I will love to recommend it to my other friends.
