The view and the coffee.

We are a young Australian couple, we had a huge drive from Venice in the icy snow. We messaged them a couple hours before we arrived letting them know that we’re worried we couldn’t get there as the snow and ice were so bad and they suggested doing it without chains, which as we were slipping around the road and unable to break properly I think is very poor advice. We finally arrived later than we had planned and when we arrived we looked a little shabby after putting chains on in the snow. We instantly got made to feel out of place, we went to the room and it smelt stuffy and a weird smell was coming from the drains. After, we came down to dinner and again we’re almost treated second class. To the point where we ordered wine and they just never even brought it to us. The dinner was at best average and the bread was literally stale and crumbled everywhere. We have been travelling for over 4 weeks and eaten all sorts of places and the bread here was the worst we have ever had. It was so stale we couldn’t even eat it. We finished dinner and went upstairs to see the rooftop pool and it was closed. We saw an incident where a staff member wasn’t treated well by people above them. The pillows were horrible so hard and small, the bed was like a rock. We woke up at 8am, very sore from the bad bed and so we quickly got into our robe and went to the roof top pool. But nope, it was again closed only open between 7:30-8:30am in the morning. The outdoor pool is also 33 degrees when it is open and when it’s very cold in the minus outside that’s not warm enough. We went down to breakfast, that was fine and the bread wasn’t as bad. You have to check out by 10am, which is very early. So we ate breakfast and checked out, ten minutes later my partner had realised he left his watch on the bedside table. We went back to hotel and were not even acknowledged, we asked them to run up and grab the watch and they didn’t respond and just called the cleaner.

An incredible resort with incredible views and amenities. Even though it is a high end resort it feels like a family home since you get to meet the owner and family. The food is incredible and they might have the greatest bartender in the world here. This is a must place to stay in the Dolomites.
