Aan de Eike Guest House

I had to leave early so could not have breakfast, a room only rate would have been great. However I was given a lovely coffee for the road as I checked out pretty early.

The extractor fan in the bathroom sounds like a jet engine, I was worried it would wake the neighbours so I did not use it. I was in room 6. The shower had a bit of mildew which could be removed.

Travelling with my sister and we stayed in the family unit. It was spacious, well furnished and comfortable. We really loved the breakfast - it was served in a room with a lekka fire going and the homemade müsli/granola was bomb! We absolutely would have a bought a pack if it was for sale ;-) A very special touch inside the room at Aan de Eike was the booklet with restaurant/café recommendations and the guy who showed us to our room (cant remember his name unfortunately) giving us personalised recommendations, both hilarious and very charming. The historic booklet about Swellendam was great as well. Details like that are very guest-centric and we felt very at home. Aan de Eike is located in an interesting street which is great for exploring by foot. We also did the Drostdy Museum Tour, very interesting. The staff at Aan de Eike is very friendly and efficient. We loved it. Can highly recommend this wonderful establishment.

Franklin gave us a very friendly reception, check-in and intro to the rooms, advised on eating venues and made the stay very comfortable.

Excellent location, warmest welcome with staff going out of their way to accommodate my early departure. Restaurants and stores are within walking distance. Overall just great value.
