BK Hotel

This hotel is quiet and well maintained with a very nice atmosphere. Phnom Penh is a bustling city with lots going on but here the vibe is very friendly and quiet. The inner city is marked by a lot of noise, traffic, bars and poor people trying to get money in any way possible. At BK Hotel there is a serene environment away from the streets, a security guard, friendly and helpful staff, a restaurant at the front gate and shops are accessible if you grab a tuk tuk.

A slight difficulty is the sparsity of highly effective English speakers but this can be overcome with some patience. The staff do try and are very good-hearted. The lack of convenience stores within easy walking distance is another slight difficulty but can be easily overcome by using a local tuk tuk.

Even though a bit out of the centre of the city, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There's a good restaurant just at the entrance and tuk tuks are always available. The rooms are very clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable 👌🏼

It is "out in the suburbs" but after being in the city centre, that's not always a bad thing.

Got there really early from a night bus and they helped me check in early for a small additional charge. It was very nice to be able to get more rest. Bed was comfortable and the AC worked well.

Room was a bit different than pictured and the bathroom had a rather strong smell.

Close to the airport, large room

No privacy in the bathroom, no door to shower or toilet (an open space), this is fine if you are travelling with partner but not suitable for friends. Extremely noisy as it's near a busy road and no soundproofing. Lots of mosquitoes as there is a gap under the entrance door which lets bugs to come in. Bed was dirty and had a dead bug on my pillow. Room needs updating as main shelf is starting to hang off the wall. Did not find the staff friendly towards me at all.
