The Wellington Arms - Basingstoke-Reading

Lovely rooms and a decent restaurant. There is a slightly hidden, larger car park at the back of the building. Good breakfast.

Comfortable fairly small room with a good bed, bathroom and shower and nice linens/towels. Well equipped, but too much stuff squeezed onto the small surfaces in the bedroom, with not enough plugs, so kept knocking things off or having to unplug stuff! Good breakfast and good restaurant if needed. Staff were friendly

Rooms get warm in hot weather, with no aircon, although fan provided. Some road noise if you open the windows. My room this time was smaller than others so a bit tight and a bit dark. Pillows poor quality compared with the rest of the linens. The building fabric is beginning to show it’s age

The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. My stay was during extremely hot weather but the roon was cool on arrival; the curtains had been kept drawn to keep out the heat and the in-room fan helped a great deal. An ice bucket helped keep my cold drinks chilled in the room. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked.

There was nothing I didn't like.
