The Flanders Hotel

I did not like that we had to park across the street from hotel because an event was going on at the hotel. We were attending the event which is why we spent the night. Very inconvenient with luggage.

The room and the service were excellent. The food was not. Solution: stay here, but eat elsewhere. The steak was a glob of fat. The pasta just tasted "weird." In the morning, the coffee and pastry was weak coffee and plastic-packaged pastry. I felt I was robbed at the restaurant, but the room was superb.

As usual, we are having a wonderful time at The Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, New Jersey. This is the fifth time my disabled brother and I have stayed here, and everything is first rate. We're in the 9th Floor Ocean Front Penthouse Suite overlooking both the ocean and the southern/southwestern views. The penthouse suites are the best value, because they complete apartments with full hotel services.

We enjoyed the history of this hotel. It’s over a hundred years old. It sits in the boardwalk area of the city. It’s very convenient to the beach, restaurants, and the major rides of the boardwalk. We visited in September when It’s a much quieter time than the summer.

The Flanders is an historic hotel and has maintained a sense of tradition throughout. You can envision men and women dressed in fine clothing walking about the lobby, on their way to a dinner gala or an afternoon tea. The hotel still offers a supper club that you as a guest get a complimentary membership to during your stay. The staff are gracious, welcoming and highly accommodating. The rooms are bright and warm, the beds incredibly comfortable, and the kitchenette a full size galley style with everything you need. The facilities are well-kept and easy to access, and the pool is clean and surrounded by more upscale sun loungers and a few sections of outdoor couches for family gathering. The hotel is right on the OCNJ boardwalk, convenient to rides, shopping and restaurants. Bring your bikes and hop up on the boardwalk for a morning ride. We loved our stay and will definitely be back to the Flanders!

Location and pool.

First room we stayed was pretty tight. The air conditioner in the bedroom was very loud too. Room 102.

I absolutely loved the history oozing from the first and second floors. Everyone was friendly, the hotel and our room felt clean and cared for.
