Staff was friendly, coffee was good, price per night was low

The room was not clean. Shower was leaking. Water pipe connecting with the toilet was leaking too!

Location but not near Wijilan as in name. I went to the other location by mistake but someone there took me to Wijilan 2. Should change name to show real location as Dipowinatan.

No hot water for shower. Sometimes.no clean glasses for coffee so had to rinse out a dirty one. Had to put new water gallon in holder as water ran out and no staff around to do it.

Avoid at all costs!!!

Wehave been backpacking South-East Asia for two months now, only staying in cheap hostels, hotels or home stays. Our standards are therefore pretty low. this however was by far the worst place we stayed at. Let’s start with the room itself: the floors and bathroom were extremely dirty and the sheets had multiple stains and appeared unwashed. The ceilings had multiple stains, spiderwebs and spiders. the room had windows and a door that were open in many places, resulting in a lot of noise and bright lights to filter through at night. the Sink only worked partially, the Hot Water wasn’t working at all and there was no toilet paper. Our main issue however was the staff. It did not appear that there was any? Everytime we had a query we had to talk to someone else, (it seemed like we were conversing with the next door family that constantly referred us to other people) and of course none of them spoke a single word English. We asked for help and tips to visit the city and didn’t get a single response. Later on, in the day, we were harassed (and I am not using this word lightly) into paying by cash even though I had selected the option to pay online. The hotel refused to collect the payment through booking resulting in us having to pay by cash (Which also took a while because they couldn’t find the papers to write the receipt). It remains to be seen if I get charged twice or not, but having a whole 2h conversation where we were being looked down upon, pressured into paying and given “proofs” of lack of payment that were screenshots of WhatsApp conversations, was not really my idea of an afternoon visiting Yogyakarta. We stayed the night and left straight in the morning for another hostel. If you know what’s good for you, do not stay here, have a pleasant stay instead and avoid having the same experience as us.
