Scenic Bay Weligama

Very beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant and clean nice rooms. Staff was very friendly and quickly helped, when our safe wasn't working.

The hotel isn't in the nicest area of town.

Очень тихо и комфортно. Спать приятно! Изначально ожидали, что номер будет побольше (как на фото). В моменте разочаровались когда увидели номер. Меньше ожидаемого, темная ванная комната (света мало для такого цвета стен), кровать собрана из досок. Просто ужас! Но после стадии отрицания и первой ночевки начали рассматривать номер детальнее и сменили вое мнение. Хороший отель, отзывчивы персонал, уборка практически ежедневно, очень вкусные и красивые завтраки, тишина (чего нет в центре береговой линии на Велигаме). Оказалось на жесткой кровати нам спится комфортнее. Также есть крытый гараж для авто и байков, на входе можно обмыть ноги от песка. Отель стоит в удалении от центра пляжа, но Тук-тук или байк решает этот вопрос. При раннем выезде нам с вечера приготовили завтрак (сэндвичи и вареные яйца). Это было очень приятно. Приятный и комфортный балкончик с видом на соседний отель (лучше чем с видом на школу, которая шумит с утра). В общем от отеля впечатления положительные.

Мало света в ванной комнате. Не хватало розеток у кровати. Завтраки только с 8:30. Было бы отлично если бы завтраки начинались с 7:30. Нет лифта.

The breakfast is really good - rooftop bar looks nice and you can select the food of a given breakfast menu. It‘s always fresh and hot, tasty and looking great. The area in weligama is nice - though you need to at least walk for 15 minutes to get to the „center“ and nice beach.

Although tea and some coffee is included, americano and cappuccino needs to be ordered and payed for 1100 lkr each including service charge. And although the breakfast tastes amazing and is fresh, waiting 45 minutes to an hour is really too long. The room was clean but a bit old. The bathroom was super dark and didn‘t smell too fresh. We exchanged the towels as they were not smelling fresh and the new set didn‘t either. We got rid of the floor towel which freshened up the smell a bit. Also when cleaning the room, they folded the used and damp towels so they weren‘t fully dry in the evening which worsened the smell and we didn‘t know whose towel was whose anymore. We had the room directly next to the reception which was at some times a bit noisy - but not any problem during night time. The balcony was looking directly at a little construction site where people were working all day, so we had our curtains closed during most of our stay … All in all it didn‘t meet the expectations we had after reading all the amazing reviews but with minor improvements the stay would have been much better.

Likte takcafeen veldig godt! God mat, hyggelig personale og ikke noe problem å være der som solo-reisende. Fint å kunne velge en rett fra frokostmenyen.

Rommene er noe slitt, men generelt er standarden grei til å være på Sri Lanka.
