Great pub Great food cottage style accommodation was set up very well and clean loved it

Needed a quick ‘pit stop’ along the A9 so chose here as it couldn’t be more convenient! Busy place on a Saturday evening but quickly welcomed and told I had the ‘cottage in the car park’ which it literally was. Externally it looked a bit tired, but inside it was large and clean. It doesn’t have any view (one small window) but you’d only see the car park anyway! I thought I might find it a bit noisy but it didn’t become a worry as most cars had gone early. I had a meal in the pub which was good ‘pub grub’ and all of the young staff were good. Breakfast was novel - a picnic hamper outside the door with cereal/pastry and fruit to enjoy in the room - suited me fine. The whole place could do with some money spending externally so it looked as good as the service that is given.

We stayed in the cottage which stands separate to the main building and it was pleasant. We had our evening meal in the main building and there was a good selection of foods at typical prices if comparing to pub food in a town. Breakfast is Continental and guests expecting a full cooked breakfast need to be aware of this.

Just what we needed

What a great room! Arrived in time for dinner and the food was excellent. We weren't sure what the basket would be like for breakfast and it turned out to be amazing.

Folks were friendly, room clean, a cosy hospitable place to stay.

It was ok, cracked sink, cracked tiles on the bathroom floor, strong smell of cleaning chemicals but also means it had been well cleaned which is a positive. Food was good but we have been overcharged on our food bill, an extra main course was added. We paid then was offered a copy of the bill which I didn’t check until we had left - silly me. Make sure you get the bill and check it before you pay!! I shall email the property to see if I can get it resolved.

This is a small inn - but the room was a good size and comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was good. They left a lovely continental breakfast basket at your door in the morning.
