O Cantinho dos Cabrais

Location, cleanliness, obliging host. Situated in charming village.

Using six digit code to access every door to the room (3 doors) - we were provided with a card which improved the situation. Air conditioning not very effective. Bright light outside room meant blinds had to be closed but so did windows. 1600 check-in, but we were allowed to check in at 1530. Kettle with instant coffee instead of coffee maker.

This Hotel is just amazing! The host family is incredibly friendly and kind, and the restaurant next door is also really good with very good value for money (try the veal a la casa!). The spa is also really nice and easy to use, with nothing to be missed! We wanted to extend the stay, but they were booked out for the rest of our time in Portugal (for good reason).

This place is truly a gem, and we absolutely loved our stay—definitely our best in all of Portugal. The warmth and kindness of the entire family made us feel right at home. You could really tell they cared for us, and that made the experience even more special. The dinner and breakfast at the restaurant next door were delicious, and the peaceful spa on the roof was the perfect spot to relax. Even though the weather wasn’t ideal, we still enjoyed the jacuzzi with beautiful views of the mountains. The entire place was brand new, stylishly designed, and spotless. It also had this amazing fresh scent—especially the bed and towels. We enjoyed it so much that we really didn’t want to leave and even tried to change our plans to stay longer, but unfortunately, we had to move on. This place will stay with us, and we definitely hope to come back someday. A big thank you to the family for making our stay so warm and welcoming!

Great breakfast variety

The staff and the room was amazing. We also really enjoyed using the spa that was included. They had a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room that seemed to be brand new! We also really enjoyed the restaurant next door and the included breakfast was delicious.

I would say the location is far from any kind of city or stores and restaurants but that’s why it’s great that the hotel has their own restaurant next door with great food!
