Thanh Do Hotel Da Lat

Location is good. Unfortunately they decided to do renovations as I think I was the only guest there. Noisy early some mornings & the lift wasn’t available at times. I had to walk to the 5th floor.

The location was very good, in the middle of the city, and accessible to the Night Markets, restaurants, and transport. The view from the room was excellent, we had room 601, on the sixth floor, which looked over a park, to the lake, at the Cathedral and also the replica Eiffel Tower. The room faced south so the the sun control was good with nice morning sunlight warming the room. The beds were big and comfortable.

We organised to be collected at the airport through the hotel and despite many messages back and forth the collection was mixed up. As we had carry on luggage only, we were first out of the airport and we waited out the front for somebody with a sign of our names but nobody came and we were left standing there after all other passengers had been collected. We had to get a taxi and it was only as we getting into the taxi the driver organised by the hotel appeared and tried to take us. But we had already told the hotel by message we would have to get a taxi so the deal was done and cheaper with the taxi. Very little apology from the hotel about this. The shower door in room 601 does not stay shut and we were getting water all over the floor until we found we could hold the door shut with a mini shampoo squeezy shampoo tube. On occasions there was no room service or replenishing of toilet paper. We had to buy some of our own to get by. We organised to stay a further nine nights in room 601 before leaving for 3 nights on the coast. Upon our return management advised they had given our room to another group! Disappointed. But the room 501 they gave us on the floor below at least had a shower door which stayed closed during a shower but the view wasn't quite as good. They only take cash so this meant many trips to the ATM to get the maximum daily limit of 3000000VD out to pay for the room in instalments. On many occasions smokers and late night talkers were close by, perhaps in the hotel, which was disruptive. But all things considered many of the staff were helpful and the location is very central and has a great view to the south.

Great location, great view and comfortable room. Most the staff couldn't speak much english but they were very helpful, tried their best to make the stay enjoyable as possible

They don't accept card for payment, so if you don't have much cash it could be a problem
