Hotel La Residencia

I specifically chose this hotel just because it had such an authentic retro 70s and 80s vibe, not to mention the amazing Salvador Dali theme throughout the whole hotel. I also loved the location.

This is something I noticed in Spain in general (at least in the places I’ve stayed) soap bars and Kleenex were not provided. They could also improve the lighting situation. Some of the lights were fluorescent and not very flattering, and several of the outlets were linked to the main wall switches, which prevented us from charging our phones once the lights were turned off. Another issue that bothered me was that we had a “Do Not Disturb” sign on our door, yet housekeeping still entered and cleaned the room anyway.

Charming, classic hotel with an unbeatable location in Cadaques. Large, comfortable room with upper level and view to the sea and vibrant street scene below. Quiet at night except for the occasional seagull. Central to all of Cadaques and an easy walk to Portlligat and Dali's house. Delightful staff (especially the gentleman who works in the evening) and delicious breakfast. Treat yourself and stay here!
