Oak Mead

Lovely self-contained room with bathroom. Beautiful views from full-length windows over the paddock and surrounding countryside. Room was clean, comfortable and had a kettle and microwave and small fridge. Small balcony with chairs and table was perfect for the end of the day. Hosts very welcoming and kind. A flight of stairs up to the room were easy to navigate. Easy to find by Sat Nav and plenty of parking.

Out of the way from everything, very relaxing and peaceful with beautiful surroundings.

Lovely setting in gorgeous countryside. Couple of horses in the paddock! Lovely looking property with a lot of charm. Large open plan kitchen /living area. Big tv. A hobbit house at the end of the garden! Table and chairs to sit on outside if the weather nice. Parking space.

No WiFi which was problematic as no phone signal either. Needs a WiFi extender from the main house which is really close by. Leaking toilet which made the floor wet. Owners must be aware as there was silicon around base. One hand towel between three of us and the bath towels were small and not great quality. No wardrobe space in the twin bedroom. Didn’t like the electric box just above twin bed, odd location. The kitchen and bathroom a bit tired really and the place was a bit musty smelling but it’s an old property.

Lovely location with good views, tranquil. Easy to get to various attractions. Bathroom door needs sorting as door doesn't latch and a shower tidy would be useful in the cubicle.

Perfect location for a cozy timeout.

For a lone traveller looking for somewhere scenic and peaceful to work for 4 days, my downstairs double room at Oakmead was perfect. Having a fridge, microwave and toaster meant I could stock up and be self sufficient. The WI-FI was excellent for work. The location meant I could enjoy walks locally, there are lots of public footpaths, country parks nearby and I even managed to visit the coast for a couple of hours. The bed and linen were extremely comfortable. I will definitely return if back in the area. Thank you!

We stayed in the Coach House and what wonderful place to stay. The views are lovely. Watching and interacting with the four horses that are in an enclosed field right next to the apartment was lovely. The apartment is a converted coach house and has loads of character. It's open plan, airy and roomy and has everything available if you want to cook yourself, and it also has a log burner. There's some lovely pubs/ restaurants nearby, our favourite being the Dog & Pickle. Excellent WiFi too.
