The Inn at 257

The property had a small, private, heated pool which was lovely. The host did a spectacular job remodeling a delapidated old house into a multi-unit income producer. Photos of the restoration were hung in the room. The host provided several thoughtful touches including bottled water, wine, plastic utensils, paper plates, beach towels, and a charging station for multiple devices. Bed was comfy with soft sheets and plenty of plump pillows. There's a tiny, funky neighborhood bar just a few doors down which added to the charm. Location is walking distance to historic district, hospitals, and colleges.

Price: high but commensurate. Afterall, this is historic Charleston where prices are high and space tight. Shower: I encourage the host to consider enclosing the shower or at least extending the glass panel. I didn't like how water spread onto the walking area of the floor. With the high humidity of Charleston the bath mat didn't dry between showers and the unit smelled a bit moldy/musty. If a shower redo isn't fesible, suggest the host provide several more towels for mopping up the floor and a towel rack for drying. Ice: wish the small fridge included ice trays. Parking: free off-street parking was a big plus for us. But spaces are very tight. Recommend future guests rent a compact car for greater parking ease and navigating downtown Charleston's narrow streets. These complaints are minor. Would stay here again.

Courtney was wonderful and so helpful. When we got to our room we were delighted to find not only a coffee machine but a bottle of wine, bottles of water in the fridge and even a couple of granola bars. You can walk to Spring St and King to pick up a free shuttle.

This historic home in downtown Charleston was an absolutely fantastic stay during our honeymoon. Courtney was a stellar, communicative host. We LOVED the plunge pool, and we got to see heaps of bats after it got dark. Highly recommend!

Courtney was very accommodating and quick to respond. When we had technical issues with communicating over Expedia she was quick to switch over text. Free parking on property as well as pool access. While we didn’t use the pool others did and it looked great! I would definitely come back here for a long weekend away.

lovely accommodations and host thought of everything for a comfortable stay, including a bottle of wine and beach supplies. Easy walk to great restaurants and shopping and can walk to downtown. Host was easily reachable and gracious. Wondering stay. No complaints. Our new “go to” place to stay when visiting Charleston

So nice and clean. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars on facilities is the spiral staircase was difficult to navigate with luggage. But I knew that going in, but they were there.

Check in was greeted by a horrible person. Rude and acted like we were interrupting her.

Can't say enough about the property location and convenience. We walked everywhere. Only took an uber to go to wedding because it was too hot to walk in our suits. Pool addition was a GREAT surprise and felt wonderful after walking and shopping. I've never been to Charleston, but really enjoyed the area from our bungaloe on Rutledge st!!
