Villa Caterina - Solemar Sicilia

Beautiful spacious apartment with three balconies. We liked the location as it was only a 15 mins walk from the centre and the house is located on its own grounds and it was very easy to park. Ivana was a great host and although was helpful she also left us to ourselves. For the money, this place is incredible value and I highly recommend it.

The shower wasn't great. Our initial arrival was strange, but quickly corrected when we met Ivana.

The apartment is spacious and the garden gorgeous. Comfy bed.

Apartment in need of total revite. Shower pinched,leaky,dreadful. Hot water arrangement primitive. Drinking water from an external source. Strong odour of and efflorescence from rising damp and, possibly, blocked drains. Intrusive family pets. Guest parking spaces more imagined than real. Awful location near a road tunnel and noisy junction about 1km from beach with a challenging climb and, bearing in mind Italian driving, dangerous roads without footpaths in places.

We had the ground floor apartment. It's very spacious - plenty spacious enough for two people to live there full time. The communal terrace area outside is great for relaxing and catching some sun. A lot of care and attention has gone into the house and garden.

The property is up a hill several hundred metres from the centre. The road into town is busy and noisy,. There are no shops within easy walking distance. This is obviously not the fault of the property, but does mean that "going into town" is not quick and easy.

The building and common areas, are stunning. Lovely gardens, with lots of nice spots to relax. The property is run by a young family, and everyone makes you feel like at home. Although the family lives in the premises, the apartments are very private. It was such a nice experience. Highly recommend this property.

My wife and I stayed here while she took Italian lessons at Solemar Academy and we were very pleased overall with the proximity to the town center (even with an uphill climb on the way back), the comfort and spaciousness of the apartment, and the grounds of the villa, with access to any thing growing in the luxurious garden!

Wonderful property and spacious apartments. The owners are attentive to the environvement.

The location is a little outside the center; the car is strongly reccomended to go to the beach (the 15-20 min way back on the hill can be tough). The "private parking" inside the villa is actually only two-three spots; when they are taken, the alternative is the free parking on the street outside the villa.

As a family of 5 we had a great time in a comfy, clean and well furnished apartment upstairs, fronting a garden. In the garden there’s a small fountain and a mini-farm/zoo with turtles, chicken and rabbits giving your smaller kids some new things to see. Our host was friendly and hospitable. Overall - we enjoyed our stay a lot and would love to come back one day.

Beautiful gardens and location if you are in the main house - worth the climb up the hill.

Very disappointed with accommodation as we booked the ‘LOFT’ which turned out to be a self contained annex which can best be described as a converted garage under the patio down a short driveway from the busy road (and sometimes noisy), away from the main beautiful house which is heavily featured. It does state this in the list of items available, 34th item in fact! Entire unit located on ground floor; Detached; Private apartment in building!? Valerio shrugged it off as a translation problem!? We booked 6 nights and were looking forward to a lovely view back over the bay from what we assumed would be high up in the house - in the loft! Having said that the apartment was beautiful but no views at all. There are only a couple of photo’s of the ‘LOFT’ on Booking.com. One of the double entrance doors and one of the bathroom.
