USIts traditional house, everything feel super cozy and it felt like home.
GBI’ve always wanted to stay in a traditional house and this was a lovely guesthouse away from the centre of Kyoto. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the area is nice and quiet and safe. It’s winter so there was electric blankets, which was perfect as the beds were warm.
More my fault for not fully knowing what I was getting into booking this style of accommodation, but as the weather is very cold right now, this means some parts of the house are cold too. The shower facility is in a room outside (adjoining) to the house so in below freezing temperatures it was unfortunately impossible to take a shower unless you wanted to freeze. I’m also very short and for some reason the tub was very far down. Myself and the other guests ended up showering at a nearby (only 550¥). Showering in the other seasons will not be a problem for guests but for those staying in winter it would be great if there was a way for the room to be warm so that we can shower. In addition, the fan was on in my room and I wish it was turned on because it made the room cold (there was a sign saying do not turn off) so I had to really stay under my blanket to keep warm. Other than this it was a pleasant stay. Note, if you have a big suitcase, the stairs are very steep so be careful.

Que por el mismo hecho de ser muy auténtica tenía el baño en el patio y había que salir al exterior. Los días que la vistamos hizo mucho frío y eso hacía algo incómodo tener que salir al exterior para hacer uso del baño y la ducha
ATATVery well kept old building with tatami rooms, wonderful quiet neighbourhood full of great finds, sweet owners. Very good facilities, while the entryway space is traditionally not heated everything that needed to be warm in winter was warm (and the shower was excellent, rooms really well heated by ac, comfy blankets)
Was a bit sad that only the Kyoto entrance had kotatsu, while our room was in the neighbouring Tonari that didn't really have such a nice shared space. But sitting in the room was very cozy
