Hanok1957

Very clean and nice host!

We wanted to stay in a traditional Hanok and were very happy at the Hanok1957. A small oasis between more or less typical (uninteresting) city buildings. We found all we were looking for: From a calm garden you can enter your rooms (with bathrooms) and you can even use a kitchen room. Of course, every guest has to be quiet, as the walls are thin, and you are sleeping on the floor, but on (thin) mattresses (so no problem at all). From Hanok1957 you can reach Daegu center with shops and restaurants by foot, a night market is close (Seomun) and a bus stop is nearby as is a really excellent bakery. And the staff was very kind and helpful. Simply a great hanok stay.

the location was really good, the owner was very friendly and helpful. he gave us a few suggestions around the area to do which were very nice. the room was comfortable.

Such a lovely place: beautiful little garden, cozy room, tidy common kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was also nice and spacious.

I thought the travelers staying in a hanok would want to live quietly and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Quite on the contrary there were young people watching tv until 2 am. The walls are very thin. Perhaps you could remind everyone to really stay quiet after 23 o'clock?

Thin paper walls lead to poor insulation for noise and temperature (inherent to architectural style)

Only a 5 minute walk from Seomun Traditional Market and bus stops only 300m away from Hanok. Buses can take you into the heart of the city or to other tourist locations you may want to explore. The Seomun Market also has a night market with lots of food stalls open, and a lovely vibe. The staff at the Hanok always responded to queries quickly and were very friendly. The bed is traditional Korean futon, so we found it a bit hard, but it's all part of the experience.

Only thing we could fault was the futon bed. But, that's all part of the traditional hanok experience. If you don't like hard beds or sleeping on the floor, then don't stay in a hanok.

대구 중심에 이런 한옥이 있었네요. 관리도 너무 깨끗하게 되어 있어서 너무 만족했습니다. 화장실 샤워실도 각각 방에 설치되어 있어서 좋았습니다. 정원이나 공동 부엌도 쓸수있어서 가벼운 티타임을 가지기도 좋았습니다. 다만 예약시 안내받은대로 확실히 한옥 특성상 방음이 취약하긴 하네요. 옆방의 코고는 소리가 그대로 들리는 정도. 저희는 그렇게 신경쓰이지는 않았지만 소음에 민감한 분들은 힘들수도 있겠네요. 그리고 까는 이불이 얇은것도 조금 아쉬웠습니다. 바닥이 그대로 느껴지는 정도라... 조금 더 두꺼운 것으로 준비해주시면 좋을것 같습니다.
