Hampton Inn Monahans, Tx

Heating was not working. Needed to change room so another round of packing & un-packing in one evening. The heating vent was noisy in the new room, desk chair was broken.

Hotel looked empty. Shower was filthy.. Too tired to care. When I pulled back the covers on the bed the sheets were covered with little black dots - looked like pepper. A closer look and there was a 1//4" length of skin on the sheets. Tired so I checked the other bed - same black spots on the sheets (not bed bugs, but nasty). At that point I went downstairs for a different room. It took awhile , new room had no issues. In at around 12:30AM, out 6 hours later. Free breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00 - at 6:30 the room was dark with nothing out for the guests. That might have been due to low vacancy rate as there were only about 5 cars in the entire parking lot

Hotel is 2 years old but already looking grubby. Breakfast was nearly empty and hotel was overall dirty

the beds were clean and comfortable! I also appreciate how kind the staff was!

poor quality in some of the finishes. Tiles in the room were loose, towel hold were loose, and the door lock pad was not working properly. There was a young lady who came up and got it to work once but then it broke again and we decided it wasn’t worth moving rooms so we just took turns leaving the room. I also would not plan on using the pool, it’s gross and looks like no one has use it in years.

The machine to make the door key cards was not working, so we wound up waiting almost an hour to get in to our room......this is the only reason they did not get 5 stars

The hotel was just…ok. For a newer hotel, I would have thought it would be much nicer and cleaner than it was. The floor was sticky, the desk was dusty, and the bathroom didn’t seem quite clean. The shower was dingy and the glass doors were very spotted, not sure if it was hard water stain spots or it wasn’t cleaned well.

No digital key available. In fact no keys were available. Front desk clerk had to escort each guest to their room to let them in, leaving no one at front desk. No manager or additional staff came to assist. Bathroom not cleaned very well, crumbs on desk and around tv. Hot water was at best Luke warm . Eggs and bacon cold at breakfast, did have good coffee. One of our worst Hampton inn experience ever. Will stay at another property if travelling this route in the future.

We were in town for my sisters surprise retirement party. The friendly welcoming staff made our stay extremely enjoyable. It was nice to have breakfast together as a Family. We will be staying here on every visit to Monahans.

Facilities were really nice but the best part was the breakfasts which were very good and available at 5:00 AM for early morning work and travel.
