The location

The room I was given was filthy in every possible way. The bedding hadn’t been washed after the previous guest, the toilet was disgusting with urine still on the seat, and there were dirty tissues scattered around the room. Hygiene here is non-existent. Check-in was a nightmare. I booked through Booking.com, but they bombarded me with pointless questions like “What’s your room number?” before even checking me in and then claimed they couldn’t check me in without it. They speak only Portuguese and expect you to adapt, not the other way around, so if you don’t speak Portuguese, prepare for frustration and zero effort to accommodate you. And here’s the kicker: they enforce a strict no-visitor policy but keep it hidden until after you arrive. No transparency, no chance to make an informed choice. If you plan to meet people in São Paulo, forget it you’ll be stuck alone in your room. Nobody comes to São Paulo to be isolated in a hotel cell. In short: dirty rooms, rude and unhelpful staff, hidden rules, and a complete lack of hospitality. There are countless better places in São Paulo book one of them instead.
