Darling River Motel

We booked a Family Deluxe room for 3 nights for our stay at Bourke Pros: - Room size was generous - good size mini fridge, toaster and kettle (could make breakfast) - security gate at night - daily room service Cons: - The walls are paper thin and you can hear conversations in other rooms and TVs through the walls. The building was not brick as the photos show online of the motel, we were in a fibro style complex. - the floors were uneven and creaky, when the rooms either side are occupied the floor moved in the room and walls squeaked. - No blinds on windows or appropriate curtains, at night could not get the room dark as the lights from outside beamed in and the room was always lit up due to the street lights on the road. Overall we were disappointed with our stay, particularly due to the price per night and we felt as a standard the room should be structurally stable and be able to cover the windows appropriately to sleep. Also felt the photo’s misrepresented what we had booked. If you have a young family I would not recommend this room. This motel would be better suited for solo or couples if you are happy with the above conditions for your stay.

Good overall but security gate needed looking at was opening and closing all the time

A warm welcome. A comfortable and clean room.

It was a bit of a walk from the coach stop. If you intend to come to Bourke by coach, you should advise as such, or you might be locked out when security gates close in the early evening. Meanwhile, I liked the wall panels around my little room, which was pretty comfortable.

Conduction with good security close to everything.

Air conditioning may need servicing not really cooling the room
