The Cottages on Charleston Harbor

Beautiful view of the harbor. It was wonderful sitting in the screened patio and listening to the waves. Easy to get to downtown via car or water taxi but far enough away to enjoy quiet time. Beds were comfortable.

Close to Charleston and the beach

The property did not warn about alligators being on the property and I had a small dog. The beds were very uncomfortable. We ended our trip a day early.

Had a great time and the views were maxing for a few short days of relaxation.

Be prepared with bug spray.

The location on the harbor was something else. Huge cargo ships going by as well as pleasure boats was fun to watch and experience being that close to the water. The grounds were beautiful as well with bamboo trees, palm trees, and various flowering plants.

First we had 3 toilets and none worked properly so we had to mess with that constantly. Second the back door wouldn't close much less lock so it just was open most of the time leading to a back porch that barely closed either. Third the kitchen appliances were terrible. Cheap doesn't even describe them since the toaster half worked and the only way to turn off the coffee maker was to unplug it (no switch). The refrigerator was super cheap and loud. The cottage needed updating for the bathrooms and kitchen in a big way. I guess I was shocked that it cost so much a day to have those issues.
