Rivendell Apartments

The owners Nikos and his wife were very hospitable and friendly and speak English perfectly, like most Greeks. They were easily approachable and welcoming, always smiling and happy. We ordered food a few times at the bar and it was delicious every time and cooked fresh. Nikos wife is definitely a great cook! The live music on Fridays is fantastic, a nice relaxing family vibe, we loved it! The pool area is also great and not at all busy most times. The room is cleaned everyday by the lovely cleaning staff who is nice. Getting around you will need a vehicle as it's just off the main road but you can get around pretty quickly as the location is pretty central (20 minutes to the airport). We never faced any issues with the parking. The only things that needed improving for our personal preference was that if you're travelling with young kids and they get bored in the evening and you want some quiet time, there isn't a proper TV to entertain them. The one we had was 25+ years old and didn't work. Nevertheless we were barely in the room anyway so we managed. Also the shower was compact and also cold most mornings, which warmed up later on during the day.

It’s very over rated in our opinion and very far away to be called a hidden jewel. The location is beautiful and the pool is in a decent size but not for a small babies as the shallow end is about 140 cm and that is everything from positive part. We stayed there in July 2024 when the air temperature was 40 degrees and straight from the beginning air conditioner in our room wasn't working the next day Nick brought free standing air conditioner which was very loud and wasn't helping anyway and worked only for 5 days and then stopped when I came and asked Nick how we will be able to to sleep Nick said sorry all the rooms are full and haven't even offered a simple fan. The rooms are also in terrible condition and stink of damp. The bathroom equipment all covered in rust. The bath towels haven’t been changed for a full week only feet towels was changed which made our stay even more uncomfortable. When we came to the apartment under the bed there was a lot of dust and someone’s toys so obviously cleaners haven’t cleaned under the beds and during the week they cleaned only the bathroom floor. The fridge freezer is not freezing we had wasted a lot of ice creams and it wasn’t only in our room also our friends had the same issue, the electric stove is old and when you are turning it on it stinks. A lot of chairs on terraces are half broken. We saw how our neighbor fell on the tiled floor because the chair was broken.They also have 2 huge dogs on their property who are barking all night. When we have stayed builder was changing tiles and was drilling and making dust which landed on people towels. (I think all the building works needs to be done before the holiday season). The parking it’s another story yes, it is spacious but it just dusty gravel on the hill you need to be a good driver to be able to use this parking. Also around full territory it's messy you can see old mattresses, laundry just outside on the floor, random jet wash was outside our door for a full week, some buildings materials everywhere, pool chemicals just in bottles near the pool which is completely not safe. They also don't have any sun umbrellas when we asked where are umbrella's Nick had a very nice excuse that the wind broke all of them.I would never stay in there ever again.

We stayed there from July 16-25. The owners, Nikos and Aglaia, were very hospitable and helpful, as were the other staff members. Our room was spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom. It was located about half way between Corfu town and Paleokastritsa, and very near Ipsos and Dassia beaches, near two major roads, so it was easy to get anywhere. The place itself was pretty, with plants and surrounding trees, and quiet. We didn't use the pool, but it was a good size with plenty of reclining chairs surrounding it. We would certainly try to stay there again at a future visit. It was kid friendly, and handicap accessible. A great place.

excellent experience, the staff is extremely kind, available at any time and for any eventuality, the room is clean and the restaurant is nice and very good, especially the desserts. the location is excellent and allows you to easily reach many places and the airport. furthermore, the dogs and cats owned by the facility are beautiful and well-behaved

Nico y su mujer son verdaderamente encantadores te prestan toda la ayuda que necesites y te hacen sentir como en casa .El alojamiento es ideal esta muy cerca de corfu ciudad y de las preciosas calas del norte de la isla .El apartamento tiene todo lo que necesitas junto a una amplia terraza .La piscina es un lujo el agua esta cristalina y que decir de su restaurante con una comida exquisita y una relacion calidad precio genial .Sin duda lo recomendaria para una estancia en esta bonita isla

We have recently returned from the most fantastic holiday ever in the Rivendell Apartments in Corfu. The complex is small and intimate with 13 well equipped and spotless apartments all with a balcony. Our apartment overlooked a lovely pool which was never too busy to relax by and have an enjoyable swim. The location is perfect, set in a beautiful mountainous area of Corfu but only approximately 15km from Corfu Town and 16km from the airport. While a number of guests had cars for exploring, we chose not to as there is a bus stop only 100m from the complex and buses providing direct links to Corfu Town, the airport and in the other direction the town and beaches of Sidari. What really made the holiday special were the owners and hosts Nick and Aglaia. Nick is clearly the most handsome and charming man in Corfu if not the whole of Greece!! Aglaia is a beautiful lady and an absolutely wonderful 5 star cook. Aglaia runs the onsite restaurant (which has received 5 google stars) and people come from far and wide to taste her food. She cooks traditional Greek dishes including meatballs, moussaka and a true speciality pastichio. My husband thought he had died and gone to heaven and compared her to Gordon Ramsey. I am not only a vegetarian but also a very fussy eater and Aglaia catered wonderfully to my requirements. I have never eaten so well in my life. For a light meal she also does a light and crispy pizza and a Greek salad to die for. A substantial breakfast is available, made with the freshest of ingredients and includes cold meats, bread, omelette, yoghurt and fresh fruits all served with her wonderful Greek coffee. You will not need to eat again until dinner time. The restaurant is extremely competitively priced for the quality of the food and cooking. We are quite simply in love with the Rivendell and especially Nick and Aglaia (not to forget their 2 lovely dogs). They cannot do enough for people. They are so hard working, so good humoured and so funny. Nick kept everyone entertained on a number of occasions playing the bouzouki and singing during dinner honouring everyone with his presence and loveliness! We so needed a relaxing holiday which we certainly had and we have also made friends for life. There is no doubt that we will be returning to the Rivendell as soon as we possibly can. We were lost and you found us, love you guys.

Great place to stay. Exactly what i needed

The place is very centrally located, so that you basicaly can easily reach every spot of the island by the car. There is free parking included. Moreover, you can enjoy swimming in the beautiful pool, surrounded with a nature. If you feel hungry, there is a food offered in the accomodation. Enjoy your stay :)

An unforgettable experience, apartments are very well, clean and spacious. It has a pool and highlight the restaurant-pizzeria with home food and good prices. Also they have a large free parking. Every day they clean the rooms and the deal with the owners is very good, they are very kind people. It's very advisable because you feel at home.
