"Didn't stay in bungalow. Location is great, if you want to enjoy solitude. Owner is strange."

6.0

Location and facilities. Staff except the owner.

The owner shared his deranged view of the world, after he drunk a whole bottle of Arak. He treated his staff very poorly and always showed that he's the boss. He is jealous of western people and tried to compare his efforts and himself to the western people.

"Health hazard!"

3.0

If you get the last villa then you have a view.

Mold, mold, mold! Owner who does not care. We found out that the pillows, matress and matress cover were covered with mold and just hidden under he sheets. Owner said if you don't like it you can cancel, no apology or nothing, so our 8 nights turned to only 2. If you have ashtma or allergy, better stay away! Also the toilet is not under the roof, during the rain you also get the involuntary shower. Breakfast on the poor side. Taxi stays couple hundred meters from the villa, but they do come to take your luggage with the scooters.

"A great stay for the Ubud area"

10.0

Beautiful villas in a quiet area, outlook into the rice fields and friendly helpful staff. Only 2km into Ubud centre which was great for accessing food and markets. Although there are also some really nice restaurants within walking distance of the villa

"A beautiful stay in the rice fields."

10.0

I had a great stay at the villa for 5 nights in December. The staff was friendly and even helped pick me up by scooter with my bag. I was a solo traveler looking for relaxation and also a nice place to stay. This was my 3rd trip to Ubud in over 10 years and as the town has expanded, the downtown area has been too busy for me. I loved staying at Galang Hari Villa as it was only about a 10-15 min scooter ride away from the downtown. It meant that when I went out for the day, I was gone for most of the day. But coming back at night and the mornings were beautiful at the villa. The room was so comfortable and nicely decorated. Extremely quiet in the rice fields, except for when the volleyball competition was going on several km's away. I loved the outdoor bathroom and shower. Wish I could have used the soaking tub and the pool which was beautiful, but too much rain while I was there. I'd definitely stay here again. Also, just a note to other travelers, I ride a motorbike, but know that if you stay here, you'll need to either walk to the main road to get a car, and walk up and down a small hill and along a paved path that is only big enough for motorbikes or walking. I had a motorbike and backpack. Wheeled luggage might be more of a hassle but it is doable. Definitely rent a motorbike or get a Gojek or Grab bike to take your around. A car cannot get to the entrance of the hotel.

This had nothing to do with the villa but they were doing major construction on the main road which means that you couldn't access the villa area easily by taxi. And when the volleyball competition was going on several km's away, you could hear the music until late night. But this is only sometimes and all over the valley, regardless of where you're staying in the area.

"Gorgeous slice of paradise stuck between the rice paddies"

10.0

Absolutely gorgeous little place lost in the middle of the rice paddies just a short scooter ride from the chaos of Ubud. So worth it, so glad I came here. I wasn’t in one of the 3 huts, I was in the room at the top of the stairs above reception and it was beautiful. Everything was great about the room, WiFi was good, smelled clean and fresh, brekkie was brought up to me to have on the balcony, one very friendly kitty welcomed me back every night, even snuck into my room one night and wouldn’t leave 😂 unfortunately I was very unlucky with the weather as it rained pretty much the whole time I was there but I would definitely come back and stay again in a heartbeat. The staff are so lovely, always hanging around asking questions and being helpful in any way. They sorted out a scooter for me for the whole time I was there.

Finding the place is a bit of a mission. You have to go down a steep side road to the bottom then go along a set of houses up a super steep and narrow path up to the rice paddies. No car can get there, forget it. My taxi dropped me off at the parking lot at the bottom and I had to hike up. If the staff know I’m sure they’d be happy to come get you on a bike though, the took my bag down for me on a scooter when I left. It’s part of the adventure though, and once you figure out where the place is, getting in and out on the scooter is a piece of cake and you’ll be zooming around the rice paddies like a local.
