Portland House

Excellent stay. Lisa was so welcoming and made us a cuppa on arrival with a gorgeous rock cake! There was a fridge in the lounge and milk provided, toaster and microwave facilities in the dining room (we didn’t use these) and obviously kettle in the room as well. We sat downstairs of an evening and there were toys for our baby to play with. We stayed as my husband had a day planned at Oldfield Forge which was easy to reach and a great time too. We explored the butterfly zoo which is in walking distance. Lisa was helpful with where to go and how to get there. Overall would stay again. Thank you

Lisa was wonderful and friendly, made our selves at home in the downstairs lounge playing charades, talk about comfy beds after sleeping like babies. We will be back!!

Nice touches like fresh milk provided daily.

Small niggles like a sticking shower door and no shelf for toiletries in the small shower cubicle. We knew there was no breakfast provided but nearby cafe only had cooked breakfast. No privacy curtaining for big picture window looking out over front of house.

A friendly welcome to a lovely Georgian building with good parking & convenient to places for meals & drinks. Very comfortable large bedroom & relaxing stay. Many thanks.

Some noise of traffic from the road but not noticeable when windows shut.
