Chalet 26 Widemouth Bay

Perfect accomodation for us to use as a base to explore beautiful Cornwall and comfortable enough to relax if required after a day in the sea air or chill in readiness to head out. The overall location was fantastic, with views of Widemouth Bay, with the awesome soundtrack of the tumbling waves; a brisk twenty minute walk, via pathway and fields to Black Rock beach, popular and well facilitated, but not too busy or crowded. Holiday park is a short drive from the A30, suitably located to venture out into the wider county or seek provisions locally or in Budes larger stores. Facilities within the park were great for all ages, specifically for us, our teenagers, using the pool daily whatever the weather. Bar and restaurant great; can highly recommend the curry tots as a delicious snack, with a great food and drinks menu. Staff were really welcoming and friendly, creating and boosting a fantastic and relaxed holiday atmosphere, I know the owner and the team work hard to ensure the experience and facilities improve year on year, which is evident and for which I wish them every success. Our hosts were brilliant, dealing with a self induced issue we encountered promptly and with great compassion. I'm biased as any time off work and especially in my favourite and indeed desired retirement destination, however my two teenagers are a good guage; to quote them on entering the property "this is awesome, can we book this next year....you've got to" And Otto our 9 month Cockerpoo is a big fan and is missing his beach walks already and all the furry and hooman friends he made in Cornwall. Huge thanks to the property owners and holiday park staff. Definitely hope to stay again in 2026!

Having to leave Cornwall

If you're seeking a peaceful escape away from tourists and crowds, this location is ideal. Nestled in a quiet area, it offers a true retreat with stunning natural beauty. The local beaches are absolutely gorgeous and officially boast the cleanest waters along the coast — perfect for swimming or simply relaxing by the sea. The surrounding landscape is equally spectacular, with breathtaking views in every direction. For supplies, you'll need to take a short drive to the nearby town of Bude, where you’ll find well-known supermarkets like Lidl, Morrisons, and Sainsbury's, along with a great selection of pubs, restaurants, and gift shops. On-site, there's a generously sized indoor pool — a huge bonus if the weather turns — plus a relaxing spa and a cozy bar. There’s also plenty of green space for kids to run around, including a well-equipped playground for the little ones. And those views? Truly jaw-dropping.

Bad mobile reception! 😄 but that's down to my provider and nothing else. If you are with o2 be prepared for a struggle.
